My main area of focus is engaging with financial and governmental institutes, carrying out both primary and secondary research, processing quantitative and qualitative data.
I lead research in the field of retail banking in both English and Arabic with a focus on the Middle East and Africa, forecasting growth trends and developing reports, papers, and presentations articulating the findings through concise outputs.
The output from my research is used by leading international cards schemes, payment processors, merchant acquirers, issuers, regulators, analysts, and other key industry players for whom access to high-quality market data is essential for strategic planning and informed decision making.
I manage a research team which covers a wide range of areas including emerging technologies and utilisation of various transaction methods. I am accountable for the continued professional development and performance management of the junior analysts.
I was responsible for the ongoing monitoring and review of best practises and the development of new policies. I worked with clients to provide reports and analysis of major social, environmental, and corporate governance issues arising from legislation, codes and principles. I would carry out in-depth reports on the ESG practices of companies and assess the investment potential for shareholders.
I also undertook research on listed companies, produced publication standard reports and successfully led the 2018 annual review of UK Corporate Governance & ESG practices. Concurrently, I supported wider research projects and mentored junior members of the organisation and was promoted to Head of UK Research. I would continuously review and report on the developments relating to ESG issues with the aim of benchmarking, measuring, monitoring, and improving environmental, social and governance performance.
I was responsible for expanding the company’s global portfolio by engaging with prospective clients and developing my own diverse client base.
My responsibilities included generating new leads and convert them into active clients; creating and developing a business development strategy; marketing and promoting the company’s brand, products, and services to the target market; training clients on the use of the platforms and educating them on the trading processes.
I was responsible for the production of the institute’s reports on the economy, petroleum industry, and political situation.
Producing reports in both English and Arabic, I was responsible for undertaking the entire project lifecycle for each assignment I was tasked with managing. From research through to final proposal, I was responsible for providing all the requisite information to feed into the strategy consultancy aspect of my role.
Working with government institutes and stakeholders, I developed bespoke assessment reports and provide initial consultation on a range of issues including investor opportunities and assessing privatisation opportunities.
