Responsibilities:
o Developed and executed the customer service strategy in that when a customer
raises a query or concern; it is addressed within the first three hours.
o I do tax calculations and send tax worksheets to Clients for approval before
generating tax assessments for payment of taxes.
o I attend to Customs Queries and requests on behalf of Clients
o Coordinating Single Customs Territory (SCT) Clearance process with our Mombasa
representatives by forwarding entries and Release orders to them to facilitate
loading arrangements.
o I generate T1s once loading details have been provided by the transporter /
Mombasa representative.
o Follow up on KEMBA IM4 entries to print out the Exit notes once ready in the
system.
o I represent the company in trainings for example those organized by the regulatory
bodies like Uganda Revenue Authority(URA); Uganda National Bureau of
Standards(UNBS); National Drug Authority (NDA) and others.
o I worked in Partnership with Joint Medical Store (JMS) to distribute ARVs and TB
medicines to all facilities providing HIV/AIDS care services in the Northern Uganda
under the NUMAT project.
o Also worked in Partnership with Ministry of Health (MOH); United Nations
Population Fund (UNFPA) and Uganda Health Marketing group (UHMG) to clear
and distribute Family planning commodities throughout the country under the
Alternative Strategy (ADS) to all faith based; private and nonprofit (PNFPs) and
private facilities.
o Have put in place relevant Key Performance Indicators and Key Quality Indicators,
and conduct proper analysis of statistics to ensure the service levels to customers
are as per set targets.
o I sensitize new and old Clients on Customs clearance procedures enabling them to
promptly avail all required information in order to clear goods without delays and
unplanned costs.
o I monitor customer service procedures, policies and standards for the company.
o I follow up on shipping schedules and getting information from respective shipping
lines or forwarders / cargo tracking.
o Have done accurate data entry and raised invoices to Clients promptly.
o I do a follow up on empty containers and ensuring that Empty container receipts
are forwarded or submitted to the relevant authorities.
o Always from time to time; I request for shipping line container guarantee forms and
ensure that the accrued Demurrage charges are billed and paid before Release of
Cargo to the Clients.
o I do issue Release Orders to third Party Agents / Clients.
o I do execute any other duties as assigned by the line manager
