- Working extensively with sub-recipients to ensure financial and program activities are
performed according to internal and donor policies and procedures;
- Assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management for subrecipient and within country mission in all departments. Providing an opinion on these to
Country Director/Team Leader and supervisor;
- Assessing controls over sub-recipients and sub-grantees to ensure financial and program
activities are performed according to internal and donor policies and procedures;
- Working with field office and Internal Audit department to ensure proper systems are in place,
inclusive of identifying and analyzing major risks.
- Providing summary of observations, recommendations, and progress on recommendations to
Regional Internal Auditor and Country Director/Team Leader on monthly basis;
- Following up with the responsible managers on the implementation of audit findings and
recommendations raised by IA department or External auditors; Appraising adequacy of
action taken on audit recommendations;
- Reviewing accounting transactions to ensure allow ability of expenses and completeness of
supporting documentation with adequate documentation, accuracy of amounts and control
over payments made by sub-recipients and country mission;
- Reviewing and testing key controls in program monitoring, ensuring that provisions are
followed. Summarizing requirements and providing suggestions on the actions needed to
follow all donor requirements;
- Getting familiar with local laws; evaluating compliance of the country mission against local
laws and ensuring that mission is in compliance;
- Reviewing and testing key controls in asset management to assess asset safeguarding system
is in place;
- Ensuring that all material findings are immediately reported to supervisor.
- Working in the field together with the Country Management and Internal Audit department to
ensure systems are in place, inclusive of identifying and analyzing major risks.
- Reviewing and assessing internal controls and practices, ensuring that field office operates in
compliance with IMC’s and donors’ procedures.
- Performing compliance reviews in all locations of the Country Mission to review and evaluate
reliability of reporting, compliance with applicable local laws and regulations, and safeguard
of assets.
- Actively promoting PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) and Anti-Fraud and
Anti-Bribery standards within International Medical Corps.
- Conducting investigations on field sites and preparing investigation reports for the head of the
Internal Audit department.
- Assembly and analysis of data for duplicate efforts, fraud, deficient controls, non- compliance
of rules and regulations and other organization policies.
- Preparing detailed and complete reports on the audit findings.
- Submitting reports of the audit results to the management, with recommendations regarding
necessary changes in the financial activities.
- Recommending changes to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
- Inspecting the accounting details including account books for the efficiency and effectiveness
of accounting procedures.
- Maintenance of the anti-fraud manuals with all the updated rules, policies, regulations and
procedures.
- Conducting Anti-Corruption trainings for IMC staff worldwide.
- Planning and conducting properly managed audits/investigations (100+). Interviewing
witnesses.

- Carrying out an independent appraisal of the organizations resources to evaluate and improve
the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and compliance with IMC and Donor
policies and procedures.
- Reviewing information for Local laws and making sure that IMC works in compliance with
local laws worldwide.
- Preparing Quarterly Audit reports and submitting them to senior management.
- Reviewing grant documents and making sure that grants are administrated according to the
regulations, assessing if internal control is in place.
- Preparing audit field visit reports, including all findings and recommendations.
- Daily correspondence with Field offices and HQ on all audit matters.
- Visiting field offices at least once a year and reviewing if all IMC administrative, financial
and logistic procedures are implemented properly:
- Central African Republic - April, May 2011
- Libya - April 2012
- Tunisia - March 2012
- Reviewing timesheets for international and national staff and makes sure that the payroll
allocation is in compliance with timesheets.
- Overseeing asset management and monitoring the implementation of fixed assets.
- Monitoring Accounts payable and Accounts receivable for international and national staff and
making sure that the same are cleared duly.
- Reviewing the procurement documentation on a monthly basis and making sure that the same
is in accordance with IMC policies and Donor regulations.
- Managing paperwork including all aspects of conduct regarding kitchen, bar and employees.
- Placing orders with suppliers.
- Checking deliveries for quality.
- Supervising kitchen and dining room.
- Keeping records of purchases.
- Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Taking over deliveries from suppliers.
- Totaling cash and charge receipts at the end of each day.
- An extensive training program of 5 months which included the following segments of
operation:
Front desk clerk - check in; check out, providing members with information, taking reservations.
Bartender - improving my knowledge on different sorts of wine, cocktails, whiskeys, while
serving members of the club.
Cook - taking part in everyday procedures such as supply of goods and preparation.
Server - contributing in the setup of buffets for +400 people, serving the members and breaking
down the setup.
Host - entertaining and escorting the members.
