Communicate (written and oral) complex research findings effectively in a clear, succinct and objective manner. Enhance the impact factor of journals by critically reviewing and discussing ideas prior to publication.
My main tasks consist in developing the nature publishing academies and delivering workshops to researchers in the Middle-East, Africa and Eastern Europe. I will focus my training on authors and peer-reviewers, helping them to efficiently communicate their work, enhance their impact in their field and adopt the best practices in academic writing and publishing.

My research interests covered the chemical senses (smell and taste) and their plasticity in the congenitally blind brain, which is crucial to understand the importance of vision in the eating experience. I was also studying the interactions between vision and the social senses of smell (e.g. body odor perception) and taste (e.g. aesthetics and morality). My job consisted in conducting research projects (i.e. write protocols, perform experiments, analyse data, write scientific reports, publish results of interest in journals and international conferences), write grant applications, review scientific literature and supervise interns as well as master and bachelor students.
Brain Awareness Montreal (BAM) is supported by the Society for Neuroscience and its main objective is to popularize neuroscience to the youth through various activities. Between 2008 and 2014, I have been giving over 30 presentations on either The Five Senses in primary schools or on Drugs and Addiction in high schools. From 2011 to 2013, I have offered tutoring in neurosciences and contributed to the organization of our local Brain Bee competition, during which high school students are tested on their knowledge about the brain. I acted as the leader of this committee in 2012 and 2013. Most importantly, I have demonstrated strong initiative in 2012 by creating the summer internship program and have acted as the head of committee since then. The goal of this program is to sensitize students to the importance of research in neuroscience by allowing high school and College students to gain a concrete hand-on research experience in a neurosciences laboratory. This highly competitive program has offered over 10 internships in the 3 main universities in the great Montreal area, i.e. University of Montreal, UQAM and McGill University.
Assist the optometrist’s and optician’s work by reading prescription glasses with a lensmeter, execute clinical tests (e.g. visual fields, non-contact tonometer, autorefractor) prior to the patients’ appointment. Advice during the choice of ophthalmic frames and lenses. Adjust and repair glasses. Confidently explain contact lenses wearing and upkeep by ensuring an efficient turnover of 15 min/client.
