-Conducts network monitoring, support and trouble shooting.
-Functions as a first line network support, the primary link with users, departments, sections and colleges involving network related activities.
-Implementation of projects covering network systems (LAN, WAN and WLAN) and cabling systems for the college.
-Monitors the utilization and performance of SCT Networks to ensure the provision of efficient and uninterrupted network service to users. Takes corrective actions to resolve network problems.
-Carries out network fault analysis and diagnosis.
-Infrastructure documentation and change management practice.
-Produces weekly and monthly performance reports on network status and availability in order to alert management on faulty areas and performance bottlenecks that affect the network service.
-Maintains an up-to-date inventory record of all networking and communications equipment which includes warranty, maintenance contract follow up and end-of-life product details.
-Maintains accurate documentation on every aspect of the network, its segments, WAN links, systems and communication devices.
-Participates in simulations and testing of evaluated technologies and applications.
-Provide training to the college staff whenever required.
-Maintains an up to date Anti-virus system.
-Responsible for configuration and administration of SCT Network Security using Fortinet Fortigate Firewall, Microsoft ISA and CISCO ASA 5510.
-Integrates backup/restore operations with current and future server projects, and proactively manages the efficiency, reliability, and business continuity of all College server farm.
-Administration of email servers, user accounts and various client software used in the corporate messaging infrastructure.
-Monitor and control email services for end users.
-Configures, implements, and manages the on-going operations of numerous College Servers such as:
1. ISA Server
2. Registration/Admission Server
3. Web Server
4. Oracle Server
5. Domain/Active Directory
6. Mail (Exchange) Server
7. Sharepoint Server
-Support, Troubleshoot and configure network infrastructure.
-Perform regular server updates (Windows and Linux)
-Perform regular updates of Antivirus.
-Perform system updates, data back ups and disaster recovery operations.
-Provide problem-solving services to computer users.
-Configure and perform updates Lotus Notes to the client.
-Maintain and troubleshoot VoIP connections.
-Maintain and troubleshoot computer system.
-Responsible for the smooth operation of the school.
