- Managing the component for Specialised Learner and Educator Support - the component consists of school psychologists, learning support advisers, school social workers and other specialised support staff
The component's specific focus is rendering specialised support to learners with special educational needs. These special needs include: learners with social and emotional problems, autistic learners, learners with Down's syndrome, learners with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, learners with ADHD, learners with cerebral palsy, learners with scholastic problems and learners with behavioural problems.
The component further implemented Inclusive Education policies and practices within both mainstream and special schools. The different special schools under my management included: Schools of Skills, Schools for learners with severe intellectual impairments, and Schools with severe behavioural difficulties.

Achievements
- Only South African to represent the country at the International Conference of the Global Child Nutrition Forum, in conjunction with the School Nutrition Association's Annual Conference in Baltimore, Maryland USA, July 2005.
- One of three post-graduate students in Educational Psychology at the University of Stellenbosch to receive the Delta-grant to study in The Netherlands during 2002.
- Established a Non-Governmental Organisation that integrates learners who dropped out of school back into mainstream schools. Managed to successfully integrate more than 300 learners back into mainstream schools over a four-year period.
