• Supports and works with designated students with significant learning needs and their teachers within school settings to enhance students’ participation and achievement.
• Work flexibly with a student or group of students as agreed upon.
• Assist class teachers and school management to ensure that children who have additional needs have those needs identified and met within the Curriculum.
• Assist pupils in adapting and overcoming problems that emerge due to learning difficulties.
• Focus on offering out-of-school education to pupils who need additional help.
• Planning and implementing effective teaching strategies, liaising with parents, staff and other relevant professionals.
• Supporting student learning through direct support and/or intervention as required to maximize student achievement and well-being.
• Sharing information between all relevant partners to provide a coordinated and comprehensive approach to support student achievement.
• Engage with parents and work collaboratively to provide the best possible educational opportunity for students.
