at Huawei’s GDC (Global Delivery Center) in Egypt as a Senior UNIX Engineer, I am responsible for managing, maintaining and supporting Telkom Mobile operator Infrastructure, South Africa (Servers HW, Storages, VTL, Backup, Linux and UNIX)

Responsible for implementing, managing and maintaining Linux services at Alex office (DNS, FTP, DHCP, Snort, Squid, Samba, Ossec, SVN, Open VPN, and Firewall servers)
Managing, maintaining and monitoring Linux live servers at Data Center in the UK
Responsible for implementing, managing Mysql 5.5 Replication
Responsible for securing live servers at Data Center in the UK (server hardening and Ossec)
Daily monitoring the performance of (live and testing) servers
Perform backup to corporate Linux live servers (applications and Mysql)
I am responsible for planning implementing and configuring Amazon Cloud Computing by
Creating and configuring VPC (Virtual Private Cloud), Subnets, Security Group policy,
Routing tables, Virtual private network with Egypt Cisco router, create Amazon instances
Participated with LINUX PLUS engineering team for planning and implementing Network Infrastructure and integrated network security based on Red Hat Virtualization OS
Primary Domain Controller based on LDAP and SAMBA Servers
Zimbra Email Solution based on Postfix
Implement network services (DNS, DHCP, SAMBA and File Servers)
Implementing the security systems using:
ERA-Plus application as (Firewall, Open VPN, Load balance and Routing) based on free BSD
Squid as proxy server (Web caching and Web content filtering) integrated with LDAP
Job responsibilities
Manage and maintain all corporate infrastructures:
(Mail, LDAP, Samba, File, DNS, DHCP, Proxy, IDS, and Firewall servers)
Administration the corporate Linux servers (host and guest servers)
Daily monitoring the performance of Linux servers
Perform backup to corporate Linux servers (host and guest servers)
Implement new services to serve and improve infrastructures
Administration of Windows Server 2003 (AD, DNS and DHCP)
Operates and maintains local area networks
Maintenance of network environment - i.e. cabling, standard
Providing technical support to internal users
Install and configure workstation software
