Fully responsible for overseeing technology initiatives and providing technology advice to key stakeholders on the strategic use of information technology in the service and advancement of UCCI's mission and vision. This includes the necessary aligning of IT objectives and programmes with the organisation's objectives and strategies through the development and execution of a technology roadmap.

Also fully responsible for daily operations and management of information technology. As a member of Senior Management Team (SMT) and the Administrative & Academic Committee (AAC), I will work in direct partnership and collaboration, on the design, acquisition, and development of all new technology-based educational and administrative information systems, to support curriculum innovation and the delivery of online and digital solutions for all stakeholders.

In recognition of my expertise and practical experiences, I also serve as Guest Lecturer for selected courses, including Accounting Information Systems, which includes educational delivery covering Database Management, Internal Controls & Risks, and Corporate IT Governance frameworks.

Re-joined own business after a voluntary separation from the Cayman Islands Government with a view to re-structuring the business while seeking professional opportunities. I served as IT Director and Business Consultant to business partner, Office Supply, a premier office products and computer retailer.

During this interim period, I also started writing a technology column, “Technology Demystified” for local newspaper. The objective with this was to present topical technology buzz terms and explan them in easily understood terms to the average person. This met with success and much positive feed-back from the community. This was not a paid position, but simply a way of giving back to the community thru my vast IT knowledge and experiences.

Senior Manager with responsibility for information technology and market research, for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, with offices in the Cayman Islands, USA, Canada and the UK.

Member of the executive management team reporting to the Director of Tourism, with responsibility for strategic planning and participated fully at this level on all business activities, which included full participation in the management and prioritizing of operational and capital budgets in excess of US$30 mil.

Directly responsible for the IT department’s budget, technology, planning, governance, security and adherence to industry best practices in the delivery of IT service value to the business as well as continuous development and retention of technology human capital.

Undertook additional responsibility as Manager of the Market Research with direct responsibilty for the deliverables of data collection, survey analysis, statistical reporting and development of models for projections. Other responsibilities included fielding and approving the release of statistical data in accordance with business regulations.

Directly responsible for the unit’s measurement and performance management of promotional marketing activities to ensure business intelligence and marketing objectives are infused with strategic goals.

Provided guidance in the development of Request for Proposal (RFP) and review processes for technology and research areas, while having full technology oversight for e-commerce as well.

Panel member of technology related recruitment for the Information Technology, Market Research and E-Business Units.

Provided internal technology consulting to all internal units in particular the e-business unit, for which I provided technology oversight.

Principal & Managing Director at McBean Holdings Ltd (Cayman & USA)

Managing Director: Managed the Cayman Islands and North America operations of Software Solutions and Internet Technologies & Consulting, subsidiaries of McBean Holdings Ltd and McBean Holding, LLC. This required overseeing both operational and administrative functions of the business. This also included regular trips between the USA and North America, to meeting with clients and internal management team to ensure smooth operations of the entire operations.

Business Development Manager: Responsible for overall business development for U.S. branch office start-up. This included satisfying requirements of the United States IRS and qualifying to open a branch office in the USA and subsequently securing necessary executive work-visas for the development of business in North America. McBean Holdings LLC, operated Internet Technologies & Consulting from 2004 to 2007 in Conyers, GA, USA.

Business Manager: Negotiated contracts with global logistic provider(s) for technology outsourcing requirements including securing long term business relations directly and via combined contracts with UPS-SCS, DELL, CISCO, HP, SABRE, WORLDSPAN, EDS, RMS Touch, Symantec, American Airlines, Delta and Northwest Airlines to name a few. To this day, we still retain the business as General Service Agent (GSA) for Dell amongst other established and contractual arrangements.

IT Consultant: Provided advice to clients, their stakeholders and internal technical support team on best practice, technology needs assessment, strategic analysis and project management for delivery of numerous technology products. Provided strategic advice to external clients on infrastructure, web strategy, and support for the procurement and implementation of various applications.

Senior Support Engineer: Provided escalated level technical support for level I and II technical teams and support for out-sourced high-end solutions. Provided solutions through investigations of recurring incidents. Fully responsible for the development and training of technical support team to ensure our services met the expectations of clients especially where service level agreements are in effect.

McBean Holdings is a private Cayman Islands entity, in operation since 1994, and provides a range of technology services including software development, systems integration, web strategy & development, logistics and technology warehousing for clients in the Caribbean and North America. Thru a host of technology partnerships, it developed a niche market servicing big brands such as DELL, CISCO, HP, Juniper, American Airlines, SABRE, United Airlines, DecisionOne, Continental Airlines and a host of Cayman Islands-based operations, through its' out-sourced technology solutions. McBean Holdings traded as SmartIT, and was the in-store technology partner for Office Supply, the Cayman Islands newest office supplies and technology store, comprising of over 10, 000 sq. ft. of retail space.
