Performs various construction engineering duties by applying basic construction/engineering techniques and analysis within the electrical discipline. My responsibilities also include performing inspection for various construction works, including temporary works, to comply with the approved methods and contract requirements. I also assist in quantifying the works done, preparing snag lists & handover to the operating authority, and preparing "as-built" drawings.
• Maintained project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems.
• Provided support on planning, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and issues to ensure project success.
• Managed site technical issues and liaised with subcontractors, clients, and consultants to resolve site matters, including participating in routine site meetings as required.
• Maintained and applied all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of actions.
• Prepared and submitted various project documents like material submittals, method statement's, inspection test plan's, FAT procedures and reporting to the construction manager and QA/QC Manager.
• Checked and disseminated documents, including drawings, and implemented, tested, monitored, and documented all related activities to ensure they adhered to project specifications and contract requirements
• Liaised with the site's laboratory and independent testing agencies to guarantee that all tests specific to projects are completed on time and meet the required standards.
• Assessed all materials and equipment needed for permanent construction before work begins.
• Ensured all activities and subordinate staff adhere to Health & Safety standards, as specified by various authorities, including the company's Health & Safety policy and its Environmental Management System.
In addition to scheduled deployments and supervising the daily installation of power supply systems, I managed costs, inventory, labor, and quality control processes.
Collaborating with a range of departments to agree on a clear strategy when negotiating to reduce project material costs was also one of my responsibilities.
I monitored all aspects of the substation system and devised measures for identifying operational problems. I also implemented corrective/preventive procedures that helped maintain the 110 KV Substation, as well as all affiliated devices, including high voltage equipment and switchgears.
The operation of re-closure of control panels, transformers, HV and MV circuit breakers, and restoring scheduled/unforced power outages, was also all part of my job description.
