Since the beginning of 2010, there has been a major change in the company which has defined a strategic plan showing several projects, including two concerning the internship that I carried out:

1. Restructuring of the workshop;
2. Optimization of production flows through a Lean Manufacturing approach.

The aim of the project is therefore to completely restructure the workshop to optimize manufacturing costs.
This restructuring concerns inventory management and an improvement in production flows using the VSM method.

My problem is made up of two main stages:

- First of all, the first is to discover the objectives and the mode of operation of the various processes of the company and to carry out the current plans of the workshop.

- The second step consists of studying and proposing different scenarios for the entire workshop to the working group so that it validates a final scenario for the complete relocation of the workshop.

The subject entrusted to me consists of applying the VSM method (Value Stream Mapping), value stream mapping (CFV) in three different workshops chosen by the methods and continuous improvement office.

First of all, the first step consists in discovering the objectives and the operating mode of the workshops in the different production units.
The goal of the second step will therefore be to know these needs and make them available to the agents.

Each cycle has its problems which must be identified and resolved. So, in order to meet the production needs, the third step is to find the solutions and apply them in the minimum possible time.

Achievements / Activities:

- Analysis of needs through contacts and direct discussions with assistants and operators;
- Proposed solutions and share them with the working group (DPX, ADPX *, Operators);
- Validation and improvement of proposed solutions;
- Implementation and realization of the different stages of this change of management;
- Ensuring the reliability of the VSM by final validation tests;
- Objectives and action planning for the future of the establishment.
