Translating diverse documents including reports, concept notes, agreements, etc. from English to Arabic and vice versa. Ensuring precise conversion of technical medical terminology, maintaining accuracy and consistency throughout translations. Adhering rigorously to established guidelines and standards, contributing to the development and upkeep of medical glossaries or terminologies for internal reference, all while managing translation projects efficiently and meeting stringent deadlines.
Professionally translate documents between English and Arabic, strictly following CALPs glossary and guidelines to ensure alignment with their standards. Meticulously use CALPs Glossary, style guides, and relevant references for accurate translations. Track record of translating CALP reports, courses, and e-learning material (e.g. CVA Fundamentals, Linking Humanitarian CVA with Social Protection), demonstrating an ongoing commitment to timely, comprehensive, and precise translations.
• Proficiently translate a diverse range of specialized content encompassing legal, medical, technical, and other fields such as risk education, mine action, livelihood, disability-related materials, human rights documentation, policies, agreements, grants reports, etc. between English and Arabic, ensuring utmost accuracy by employing precise technical terminologies.
• Conduct thorough reviews of translated documents to enhance and ensure the quality and fidelity of the translations, making necessary improvements for clarity and accuracy.
• Offer oral translation (interpretation) services during Health Information (HI) trainings, meetings, and interviews, facilitating effective communication among service providers, partners, and beneficiaries as required
• Develop and maintain an exhaustive glossary of specialized technical terms utilized across various departments within the organization, ensuring consistency and accuracy in terminology usage.
• Interacted and developed working relationships with staff and children and their families using positive interpersonal, oral and written communication in English and/or Arabic.
• Facilitated oral communication between language minority persons and staff by interpreting telephone conversations, in- person conversations, etc. during school hours, for parent/teacher meetings and occasionally in after school activities and other school functions.
• Translated all new memos, circulars, policies and rules and regulations sent to the school by the Saudi Ministry of Education. Kept electronic archives of past work for ease of reference.
• As part of the Head of Chancellery team, provided secretarial support to the Head of Delegation and his/her Deputy i.e. drafting correspondence, arranging meeting venues, reception and transportation for the Head of Delegation, taking minutes of meeting for the internal meetings of HoD/DHoD and coordinators (coordinators meeting, field meeting, Etat Major, etc.), dealing with external interlocutors.
• Liaised with Jordanian Governmental Departments and Ministries to arrange for meetings with the HOD, to submit requests/applications regarding ICRCs activities, or to acquire approvals related to refugees, and followed-up on the progress of submissions, all in coordination with the relevant departments of ICRC.
• Organized training sessions for newcomers / employees on the use of the ICRC mailing system (LN) and other essential databases.
• Supported different departments / coordinators in the compilation/ finalization of different ICRC reports (Annual reports, Appeals, etc.) in coordination with the communication dept. and under the supervision of the HoC/HoD.
