Project Management Position:

During this time at ghd I was responsible for the entire project lifecycle from commercial signoff and conception through design, engineering, test, manufacture and release for various NPI and NPD products.

This involved regular site visits to the Chinese manufacturing sites in both south and north China. I also managed a number of Cambridge Consultancies during the development phases and detailed design phases. This role required me to work across many disciplines and ensure that all necessary departments such as manufacturing, design, marketing and logistics were fully immersed and clear on project objectives.

It was key that I could marry up the requirements of all stakeholders and translate this into a viable product for market. I also ensured that the functionality for the hardware and software being developed were fit for purpose and the development, test and release for both hardware and software ran in parallel

PMO Position:

I was responsible for developing and implementing a gated project management process, which is known internally as the NPD process. I played a significant role in the engagement of the wider organisation, to do this I worked hard at understanding each department’s role in the creation of NPD. This understanding gave me an insight into possible limitations and bottlenecks which helped strengthen the overall process and provided accurate timings for each activity. To compliment this I produced templates for logging risk and issue, tracking budget and reporting.
I was responsible to creating a weekly dashboard for the Project Sponsor and monthly dashboard for the entire Executive team.

Further achievements include:
*Created and implemented an Engineering Change Control System - which all engineering changes are steered through.
*Developed and implemented a document and version control methodology
*Advised on a new method for storing documentation - providing a secure and intuitive intranet based storage solution namely SharePoint.
*Recommended and implemented a cloud based BoM system that stores all product data from Test specs, Drawings to Approved Vendor information.
