  • Canada
  • My current job since January 2022

• Lead a team (15 graduate students) to conduct ES-SAGD experiments using a shared large 3D physical model in collaboration with six petroleum companies (Kuwait Oil Company, Cenovus, Suncor, Canadian Natural Resources (CNRL), Imperial, and Strathcona),
• Conduct economic analysis for ES-SAGD oil recovery using solvent in a shared 3D model,
• Investigate the impact of condensate/DME as solvents on oil recovery and steam/oil ratio,
• Optimize model variables and simulate experiments using CMG-STARS for relative permeability curves and process scaling,
• Develop innovative techniques to measure water-cut rapidly, conduct SARA fractionation analysis efficiently, and extract the full molecular weight distribution of crude oil,
• Manage laboratory operations and mentor more than 20 research team members,
• Collect the experimental data, interpret the results, and provide guidance to graduate students,
• Organize workshops to present experimental results to industrial sponsors of the SHARP consortium,
• Assist the consortium director in preparing proposals to secure big funding from industrial sponsors,
