Since moving to Abu Dhabi I have consulted nationally and internationally on HR issues, and added to my theoretical base by qualifying as a Coach. Much of my work is highly confidential. I will be able to discuss it more fully at interview.

Delivering two HR Service projects for international humanitarian organization UNDP as part of their “Leadership Development Pathway Program”

Preparing (with cultural awareness and new skills) a country manager for relocation to a very different part of the world.

Coaching a “HIPO” (High Potential Employee) following a 360° review in gaps in their skill set reviewed by this performance management tool.

Upskilling a client based in Bali, coaching her through competency based interview techniques, successfully helping her to find employment.

Providing tailored advice to a client seeking to address health issues, enhancing their work productivity.

Working with UAE based “trailing spouses” to investigate and pursue their career options so that their professional lives can continue, and their futures be strengthened.

Upskilling and motivating a leader promoted to manage their former peers, coaching them through the necessary attitude changes and teaching them performance management and other techniques.

Successfully delivering behavioral change programs for individuals looking to change elements of their personal and professional lives.

Coaching a woman suffering from psychological problems through her stress and advising and motivating her through a successful job search.

Passing the Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) qualification, and international program run from both the USA and Turkey.

This is one of Europe’s leading business schools and I was invited to gives classes as a Guest Lecturer to the Masters Degree in Economics Program. The key deliverable was addressing the employability of these students.

Selected Achievements:

Delivering tailored knowledge to international students, often with little work experience, on how best to present themselves, and differentiate themselves, to prospective employers.

Working with individual students, both face to face and via electronic communication, to mentor and coach higher standards of presentation.

Considered “transformational” in my impact on the students’ employment chances by the University.

This was the international investment banking arm of one of Portugal’s largest banks. Travelling frequently in the USA, the UK, Ireland, Spain and Poland, I supported as generalist HR business partner the international divisions of this growing company. In addition to providing specific support to several countries, I also implemented global policies.

Selected Achievements:

Successfully organizing biannual Global Talent Team meetings, designing the program and progress chasing agreed actions.

Delivering in partnership with external advisors (including PwC, Deloitte and Heidrick & Struggles) improvement projects including a new performance appraisal system, talent management policies, a mobility project, a HR audit and salary market surveys.

Sensitively handling the diplomatic challenge of a deferred compensation plan for Senior Managing Directors.

Adding a HR perspective to the bank’s investor relations activities, addressing several shareholders’ meetings on innovations leading to potential long term benefits.

Leading on international mobility policies and bespoke program design for senior executives and high value professionals, tacking personal, family and work issues.

Identifying colleagues willing to consider, and suitable for, expatriate roles by designing and implementing an online career self-service system, increasing the bank’s knowledge of its own staff.

Building several onboarding systems, from graduate to senior levels, increasing the initial productivity of colleagues by introducing them to key people and policies and the capabilities of the business,

Successfully designing non-financial incentives to foster key staff retention, including tax efficient child care schemes.

Leading (with the Head of Research) the bank’s graduate recruitment program, ensuring a continual flow of young, knowledgeable and analytically competent talent.

Creating an internship scheme for the bank in London including solo and project based learning, leading to value added to the business in numerous areas including Research, Trading, Fixed Income, Market Relations, Operations and CSR

Implementing several successful projects to spread e-learning and other modern, flexible, blended learning training methods across the bank.
