PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN DURING MASTER DIPLOMA IN
BIOINFORMATICS
A. A review on Huntington disease.
Project Summary
* Selection of Huntingtin protein by KEGG method.
* Selection of heat shock protein by KEGG method.
* DNA sequence of normal Huntingtin protein delineated by BLAST.
* Peptide sequence of normal Huntingtin protein delineated by FASTA.
* Mutated portion of Huntingtin protein was selected from HMGC database.
* Compared the mutated protein with the normal protein and subjected them to secondary protein
prediction tools like GOR-I, GOR-V, PREDATOR, HNN, SOPHA, and EXPASSY.
* Detected changes in secondary structure of the mutated protein in its helix and coils.
* Delineated the 3-dimensional structure of Huntingtin protein by using RASMOL, utilizing the
sequences through FASTA.
* Conclusion-The heat shock protein (hsp) attached to Huntingtin protein makes it into mutated
form. The project concludes with the finding that the hsp is structurally similar to plant extrinsic
like products.
