The main objective of this position is to manage the HR department in four countries: Bahrain, UAE, Oman, and Qatar and ensure all the HR objectives and KPIs are met, and SLA standards are adhered to.
Main responsibilities under current position:
1. Strategy and planning:
- Prepare and plan HR strategies and objectives to be aligned with the company’s overall strategy.
- Evaluate the HR strategy effectiveness through accurate measurement tools and update the senior management through reports or presentations.
- Review and update the Service Level Agreement (SLA) which outlines the entire HR function twice a year and update the senior management through SLA adherence reports.
- Work closely with the management and provide decision support through HR metrics and recommend changes when required.
- Work with managers and leaders to develop learning and development strategy and plans to close key gaps, taking into consideration appropriate delivery channels.
2. Work structure/ Job design
- Support line managers in reviewing the job descriptions of their employees and update if necessary, in order to ensure the job descriptions are up to date and in line with the changes that may occur in the daily tasks.
- Develop departmental and individual objectives in order to ensure the entire HR function is in line with Al-Futtaim’s strategies and the service level agreement.
3. Policies and Procedures
- Review the HR polices once every two years to ensure its compliance with the labor law and HR best practices.
- Review the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of HR, Government Relation and Administration teams in order to ensure effective service delivery
4. Talent Management
- Act as advisor to the Talent Acquisition Specialist to enhance the recruitment and selection policies and procedures
- Support line managers in conducting interviews and the selection of suitable candidates
- Manage Bahrain Social Committee as part of Al-Futtaim’s employee engagement strategy.
- Work closely with the management to ensure that Performance management system and procedures are align with the local law and the international HRM best practices.
- Conduct exit interviews and produce reports quarterly in order to share the findings with managers with appropriate recommendations.
5. Employee Relation
- Act as an Employee Relation Advisor by conducting investigations, handling employee grievance cases, and advise on the course of action.
6. HR Operations:
- Ensure the entire HR operations such as (on boarding, off-boarding, data maintenance, letters, etc.) are handled appropriately and in accordance to the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
7. Legal:
- Ensure that the entire group is in compliance with the kingdom’s laws and regulations being the responsible person of organization’s legal stability.
- Coordinate closely with company’s local lawyer to ensure all the required documents are provided with the support of the legal department in the head office.
8. Government Relation:
- Ensure that the Government Relation Officers tasks are accomplished as per the SLA.
