• Supervise and mentor junior engineers by reviewing their hydraulic and hydrologic models (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS), technical reports, proposals, tender documents, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Provide continuous guidance to junior staff to ensure technical quality, alignment with project objectives, and consistency with internal standards and client expectations.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and discipline leads (civil, structural, environmental, mechanical, geotechnical, and electrical) to ensure seamless integration of hydraulic design within multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Lead internal quality reviews and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, design standards, and client expectations for hydraulic structures (culvert, bridge…etc), flood control, and dam safety projects.
• Manage all construction-phase technical documentation, including RFIs, contractor submittals, and design change requests. Assess each item, direct it to the appropriate technical lead, and oversee its resolution in coordination with other disciplines to avoid clashes and maintain project timelines.
• Provide technical support during construction by evaluating proposed modifications to hydraulic infrastructure, ensuring feasibility and alignment with design intent, and facilitating interdisciplinary coordination to resolve on-site issues.
• Contribute to the planning and coordination of hydraulic design activities, including work breakdown structures, task assignments, and schedule development.
• Proactively identify design or site-related risks and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Support documentation management and change tracking for hydraulic systems throughout design and construction phases, helping maintain clarity, accountability, and alignment within the project team.

May 2018 - May 2019

Hydrological Study:
• Conduct field surveys to collect data on water flow, precipitation, and soil characteristics.
• Analyze topographic, LiDAR, and bathymetric data for optimal terrain and water channel modeling.
• Use specialized software such as HEC-HMS and ArcGIS to delineate the watershed.
• Collect and analyze meteorological data to determine water flow rates and flood scenarios.
• Evaluate the impacts of land use changes (e.g.urbanization, deforestation) on water flow and flood risk.
• Perform hydrological modeling to simulate flood events, water quality, and stormwater runoff.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses to understand how changes in climate, land use, or infrastructure affect hydrological outcomes.
• Determine the Probable Maximum Precipitation (PMP) using the moisture maximization method, accounting for climate change effects through climate model scenario analysis.
• Derive the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) by simulating the watershed response using the HEC-HMS hydrological model.
• Evaluate ice thickness using the Annual Mean Degree-Day Method (DJMA).
• Determine wave heights using the Limited Fetch & Waves method, based on wind speeds for each return period and across eight directions.
• Assess high and low tide levels for each return period.
• Evaluate the combined effects of waves and tides on hydraulic structures to optimize shoreline protection and determine safe freeboard levels.
Hydraulic Study:
• Assemble ideal hydraulic models to reflect the spillways and natural behaviors of watercourses as well as existing or proposed hydraulic structures.
• Perform 1-dimensional simulations with cross-sections to evaluate the hydraulic behavior of watercourses and structures (bridges, culverts, etc.).
• Perform 2-dimensional simulations using LiDAR data combined with bathymetric and topographic surveys for more accurate terrain modeling.
• Use ArcGIS and HEC-RAS softwares to create hydraulic models and simulate water flow.
• Conduct Dam Failure Studies, analyzing potential dam failure scenarios and evaluating the consequences on populations, the environment, and property.
• Conduct Cascade Failure Studies, examining the cumulative effects of successive dam failures for effective flood prevention planning.
• Develop an Emergency Action Plan for dams, outlining procedures to follow in case of emergency or failure.
• Develop a Reservoir Management Plan, providing guidelines for the safe management of water held by dams.
• Produce Flood Maps, allowing visualization of potentially flood-prone areas in the event of a flood.

Administrative:
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams, including biologists, surveyors, mechanical, electrical, geomatics, geotechnical, civil, and structural engineers, for the design and implementation of bridge and dam construction.
• Develop comprehensive service proposals, including detailed budgets, schedules, and descriptions of services provided.
• Write site reports and track contractual documentation and drawings.
• Produce hydraulic study reports and dam safety studies.
