IT Assistant Manager- Business Application
Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) was established in 1979 as the first Islamic Retail bank in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Bank has been maintaining its leading position in the Islamic banking sector through adopting innovative Islamic investment and financing products, supported by superior retail and corporate banking services. Their vision is to be the best Sharia'a compliant financial solutions provider.
Main responsibilities:
• Process Reengineering to Business and IT requirements
• Introducing and implementing new services for customer as well as for staff.
• Overseeing e-channels like internet banking, IVR and credit card payment through Benefit.
• Implementing the second phase of BCTS (clearing cheques) which it is to integrate to our core banking which make as the first bank who implement this.
• Implementing the first for the customer where to pay outstanding credit card though Benefit.
• Understanding business banking requirement for system requirement specification
• Providing end-users support to the bank applications.
• Support all internal environments: production, test and development.
• Provide the second point of contact for the business users.
• To provide alternatives, recommendations or solutions to end-users.
• Vendor Management.
• Managing project such as Bahrain clearing truncating system (BCTS) and Electronic approval system.
The main aim of the Organization is acting as a central government entity that connects all ministries and government organizations together and provides web hosting, emails, internet and other services. In Additional, it manages many projects such as Elections, Smart card project, Government data Network and many other projects. Beside my rule, I am the Quality Management Representative (QMR) of the Quality Section where we have the Quality certificate ISO 9001-2000.
Reporting to the CEO, I managed 4 developers.
Main responsibilities:
- Introducing new web services for ministries in Bahrain Government Portal
- Monitoring and controlling progress of work
- Gathering Business requirements from business owner and convert it to IT requirements
- Looking for business improvement
Main achievement:
- More then 70 services deployed on the internet
- Over %15 of population using Government services
Develop the E-Voting System and Handling the UAE Federal National Council Election.
Reporting to the under secretary. I managed 3 groups that consist of a Team leader and 5 IT specialists.
Main responsibilities:
- Planning the Evoting setup and processes
- Supervise the setup of the election station in the 7 emirates
- Training the IT specialists on the E-Voting system
- Define business Process of the E-Voting
- Handling the meeting of the groups
- Designing and Developing the E-Voting system
Main achievement:
Fully success in the e-voting project in the 7 emirates and get the top management and electors satisfaction
I get hired for Application Transformation Project (ATP) which it is one project of e-government strategy. Reporting to the IS manager.
Main responsibilities:
- Documenting the Application processes and business rules of the legacy applications
- Designing the new application for the related ministries
- Normalizing the Legacy DB
Main achievement:
- Documenting the Process of General Directorate of Traffic
- Normalizing the legacy DB of General Directorate of Traffic
- Achieve %90 of my rules
Smart card Project is one of the main project that introduced by CIO. Reporting to the Smart card project manager. I managed 2 Business Process Specialists
Main responsibilities:
- Establish the connection with the related ministries
- Get Management approval for the exist and Reengineered Business processes
- Gathering the Documenting the Ministries' data requirement for the Smart Card
Main achievement:
- Documenting the Business processes of 3 ministries that relate to the project
- Proposalling of Business processes Re-engineer and get management approval
- Gathering the SC requirements
- Designing the Chip's File Structure
This is my first project that I get in before my graduating year that I work as a developer in the municipality and Parliament elections where I design with my colleague the first system that used on the country level using Microsoft Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft Access DB. Reporting to the Development team leader.
Main responsibilities:
- Design and develop the verification System for the election.
- Design and develop the change address system
- Design and develop the candidates and deputies system
All systems above develop in VB6 and Access DB integrated with barcode device
Main achievement:
- Develop the 3 systems
- Write the Technical System manual of verification system
