Internship that covers training in every department in the company including; HSE, Production, Quality Control & Assurance, Technical, Project, Sales, HR…etc.

Completed three projects during the training weeks:

1- GRE pipes use in potable water applications: I dived into the manufacturing process and raw materials used to produce suitable pipes for potable water.

2- GRE pipes use in green Hydrogen applications: I had to break down the overall process of hydrogen production to study the use compatibility of GRE pipes in every part of the process. The objective was to replace the currently used pipe material with GRE pipes to overcome the current challenges like permeability and embrittlement.

3- Overall plant review: Made a presentation that contained detailed explanation for every department and the service it provides. I focused mainly on the production process, QC department and the tests they run, and lastly the places where the company could be improved where I suggested many improvements that make the production process safer and more efficient.

Graduation project: Post Combustion CO2 Capture from Natural Gas Combined Cycle (NGCC) power plants by chemical absorption using Monoethanolamine (MEA) solvent. A project that focuses on environmental purposes considering the current global warming situation that is worsening due to the greenhouse gas emissions. The plant consists of two main units: Absorber column and stripper column. Absorber column is the piece of equipment where the process of CO2 absorption occurs absorbing it from the exhaust gas that is coming from the power plant forming a CO2-free exhaust gas that can be emitted to the atmosphere safely. MEA solvent, the absorbent, chemically absorbs CO2. So, it becomes rich in CO2. Here, the role of the stripper column is to regenerate the MEA solvent that is rich in CO2 by stripping Carbon Dioxide using water steam resulting in recycled MEA solvent that can be reused in the absorber column.
