Ensure the right execution of HR functions on both strategic and operational levels; translate business strategy and priorities into strategic HR objectives in terms of compensation, staffing & recruitment, building people capabilities, building right culture, organization effectiveness in addition to other administrative and governmental issues in order to create a healthy work environment.

IHPG has a major re-structure and major expansion, such change have created culture change, structure change, management change and an overall change in so many aspects.

My role is to align the HR Strategy to match the business strategy, and to create systems and procedures that help the new situation.

Responsibilities and Duties:

o Direct supervision and coaching of a team of 10 staff in the department

o Advising upper management on corporate HR strategy issues and planning

o Providing advice and support to unit managers on: application of HR policies and practices, labour law issues and recruitment

o Organizing and contributing towards implementation of company projects and initiatives related to strategic planning and business process re-engineering

o Regular review of policies and procedures to ensure alignment of HR strategy with business strategy, and optimizing efficiency

o Active involvement in recruitment and hiring activities as well as company procurement activities

o Handling of staff issues and grievances and communication between staff and management with a view towards enhancing staff morale and retention of valuable talent

o Oversight of personnel unit responsible for issues such as: payroll, management of compensation and benefits, and staff contracts

o Managing company training and development schemes and activities, including regular reviews to identify training needs

o Regular coordination with parent-company (KIPCO group) and URC subsidiaries with regards to HR and business continuity

o Organizing and preparation of URC General Assembly meetings

Responsibilities and Duties:

o Lead team responsible for recovery and maintenance of electronic data
o Coordinated regularly with other peers/focal points at KPC subsidiaries on coordination and harmonization of matters related to HR and IT
o Contribution to company-wide annual merit appraisal exercise
o Liaised with consulting firms hired by KPC to conduct employee compensation-related studies

Achievements:

o Team-member in a study for proposed general salary increases (including compensation and benefits) for the Kuwait oil sector aimed at brining salaries up-to-par with comparable sectors in the GCC market. (study was successfully completed within allocated budget)
o Team-member in the study to review salary adjustments for top management and executives in the Kuwait oil sector
