Pricing Mechanical networks and systems
• Timely preparation of detailed engineering proposals for the company’s complete range of products and services.
• Present to Proposals Manager for review the Cost Estimate in detail prior to review of the tender by Management.
• Develop costing as part of the quotation process.
• Design overall schemes, such as Sheet metal works, pumping stations, pipework and earthworks, firefighting system and
HVAC system
• Accurately interpret client’s technical specification and produce a compliant technical proposal; offering more suitable
alternatives where appropriate.
• Ensure proposals pricing and estimating is in line with company’s agreed strategies on sales and marketing, charge out
rates and availability of engineering resource.
• Write high quality technical and commercial documents and reports and present them to both internal and external
audiences.
• Maintain a sales and marketing focus in all proposals related activity and in contacts with stakeholders.
• Receiving and reviewing Requests for Quotation (RFQ's)
• Clear understanding of work scope & best estimation with respect to execution of project.
• Develop multi-discipline concepts, detailed and definitive cost estimates for Company Capital Projects.
• Review estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with defined scope of work
Prepare estimates including probable costs of materials, labor and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications
Responsible for the preparation of preliminary estimates and studies during preconstruction to monitor design development cost trends in order to detect over-runs and potential problem areas.
Examine cost data and analysis reports, purchase orders and subcontracts
Assist with the creation of presentations of estimates for management review
Understand market labor and equipment rates
Liaise with estimating staff, clients, and vendors
Build and maintain business relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
Prepare effective proposals in a deadline driven environment
Prepare request for quotation and bid tabulations from subcontractors and suppliers
Prepare request for quotation and bid tabulations for material pricing
Maintain Sub-Contractor and Supplier Contact Lists
Travel to various sites and office locations may be required
Reading front end documents including instruction to bidders to determine closing dates, tendering or RFQ procedures, bonding requirements, insurance requirements, etc.
Determine tender form requirements and set up tender specific breakout pricing to ensure compliance with tender submission
Keep abreast of new technology within the mechanical contracting industry to ensure that all estimates include for the most up to date construction methods & procedures
Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers and architects regarding tenders
Participate in site review, tender review, tender hand-off, project closing and operational/sector meetings with the Division Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager and Purchasing as required
Review quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate, and studies for all items incorporated in the assigned scope.
Take lead role in Lump Sum (LS) bids.
Review drawings, specifications and all other construction documents. Make senior management aware of design-related problems, completeness of documents and other potential risks.
Work in conjunction with Operations to ensure that detailed General Conditions/Requirement estimates are prepared, and review with others as needed.
Responsible for the value engineering process during preconstruction for the assigned projects.
Manage the Estimating Engineers and Assistant Estimating Engineers, including completing performance evaluations.
Ensure strict adherence to safety, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
Analyze cost data, unit prices, back-page costs, and information that can be developed and used as a “rule of thumb” for all building systems estimated costs.
Generally responsible for implementations and monitoring of all mechanical related works at site as per approved drawings and methods and safety rules.
Estimates, prepares and assigns the resources such as manpower, materials, consumables, equipment, tools, etc., required for all Mechanical and related works prior to execution. Plans and analyses all possible construction methodologies and recommends the best options to the MEP Manager for approval prior to execution at site.
Interprets construction drawings and studies the contract documents and applicable standards or specifications prior to execution of any jobs.
Manages directly and provide engineering and technical supports to all the Mechanical work groups at site.
Plans the execution of all Mechanical related works and coordinates the works to Electrical and civil groups.
Assign targets for accomplishments and ensure targets are met on daily basis for all Mechanical groups at site.
Submits site daily reports, inspection requests, estimates and all applicable monitoring reports on regular basis or as required.
Supports the MEP Manager in accomplishing all the goals and targets for the Mechanical and electrical groups at site.
Ensures that all the works done are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and all applicable standards whether local, national or international standards.
Ensures that all site works are done according to all applicable quality standards.
Directly responsible for the safety of all Mechanical groups’ personnel of the project by ensuring that the project execution will be done according to all applicable health, safety, sanitary and environmental standards.
Carrying out all Mechanical Works and equipment’s installation activities.
Attends regular meeting with client, civil engineers and consultant to provide update on project progress.
Pre-resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems at site that may arise at any time.
To collaborate with cost control and planning department in preparing the weekly progress reports.

Keep up to date with environmental matters, and be aware of policy and developments in this area.

Ensure proposals pricing and estimating is in line with company’s agreed strategies on sales and marketing, charge out rates and availability of engineering resource.

On a needs basis, provide resilience support to other departments within the company.
Organize Budget Handover Meetings to Project Managers.
Receiving and reviewing Requests for Quotation (RFQ's)

Handling the installation of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage and Firefighting systems.
Responsible for installation of HVAC, Firefighting and Plumbing networks.
Overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems.
Carrying out tests on systems and making changes to plans where necessary.
Liaising with electricians, surveyors, architectural technologists and other construction professionals.
Attending a range of project group and technical meetings.
Ensuring designs are consistent with project technical requirements, codes, standards, and estimates.
Conducting field inspections and walk downs as necessary.
Providing support to the supervisor in developing and maintaining scope, schedule, and estimate for design activities.
Review 'As Built Drawings' to ensure correctness, completeness and that they are in-line with the specifications.
Analyzes technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
Provide a weekly report about the accomplished and remaining works .
Review of contractor invoices and processing payments through the client.
