As a member of the IFRC regional Operations Coordination teams, my role included the following responsibilities:
• Provide technical and operational guidance to MENA National Societies and IFRC
Country Delegations in developing emergency response (and Anticipatory Action) plans and budgets.
• Facilitate timely and rapid access for National societies to emergency funding from the IFRC DREF pot. Supported the launch of 23 emergency operations in 12 countries across the region.
• Ensure support for National societies to understand and adhere to the procedures and guidelines of the IFRC DREF mechanism.
• Follow up with budget holders to monitor the implementation of DREF supported emergency (Response and Anticipatory Action) operations across MENA throughout the life cycle of the operations.
• Provide capacity strengthening to IFRC regional office, country delegation offices and National societies as needed.
• Work in close collaboration with the relevant country delegations, as well as different thematic departments including Operations, Health, Logistics, WASH, Shelter, NSD and with PMER and support services departments to promote an integrated approach in the disaster response operations to ensure timely and quality DREF operations and quality reports.

Managing DRC's Amman station for the ECHO funded consortium protection monitoring project
(Reinforcing the protection of displacement-affected populations living in host Communities in
Jordan).
The project focuses on helping the Syrian refugees in Jordan issue their legal documentation and
regularize their status.
Main activities and responsibilities included:
1. Oversee Project Activities and Staff in Amman
▪ Provide direction, assign tasks and give support to project staff in-line with SOPs, strategies and
project objectives.
▪ Plan outreach activities with the Field Officers and in close communication with other
departments at base level.
▪ Support, follow-up and oversee Field Officers daily activities including home visits, VAFing, data
entry and verify that all reporting activities are accurate and monitor progress towards
achieving targets.
▪ Supervise implementation of cash for protection programming; working closely with other
departments on cash distribution strictly following all standard SoPs.
▪ Participate in the development or modification of the tools, databases, referral sheets and
materials for the project (i.e. SOPs, Information, Education and Communication materials etc.).
▪ Support the Case Managers in referrals to other services' providers when needed in complete
transparency with the Senior Legal Officer based in Amman.
▪ Identify, analyse and evaluate challenges and gaps in the implementation of the activities and
make recommendations for improvement.
▪ Build staff capacity and identify training needs related to protection challenges of both
documented and undocumented refugees.
▪ Establish good communication with staff by implementing weekly meetings and exchange of
knowledge between field officers, case managers and relevant staff.
▪ Follow up with the support of the project support assistant on coordination with the bank and
finance on ATM cards, available balances for all beneficiaries as well as regular cash monthly
reloads.
▪ Keep track of all assessed cases and services provided to each case by making sure all feedback
is added to the consortium database and the JHCO reports and that all data is clean.
2. Monitor and Evaluate Project Activities
▪ Regularly monitor and evaluate project activities (reporting, field spot-checks, data cleaning)
▪ Provide periodic quantitative and qualitative progress reports on operational issues and

emerging protection trends on agreed timeline to project manager.
3. Coordination with DRC projects, partners and external stakeholders
▪ Maintain close coordination with DRC's department at base level; livelihood, protection, M&E,
logistics and finance.
▪ Maintain close coordination with CBOs and partner NGOs on different activities including
distribution of cash assistance, holding awareness sessions and focus group discussions.
▪ Maintain close coordination with 5 consortium partners (IMPACT/REACH, Mercy Corps,
INTERSOS, PUI, and ICMC) as well as the consortium's information management unit to
harmonize operations and services and eliminate possibilities of duplication of assistance
provision to beneficiaries.
▪ Regularly represent DRC at meetings as assigned by project manager.

Community Engagement Project Officer à International Relief and Development

Managing four programs under IRD's community engagement sport and recreation department in Zaatari camp funded by UNHCR.

1- TIGER program aiming at empowering adolescent girls and providing them with academic support to complete their secondary education to reduce dropout rates and child marriage in the camp.

2- Art from Zaatari community committee; providing support for artists in Zaatari camp in order to come up with initiatives that serve their community and improve their living conditions.

3- Post basic education program PBE; providing educational courses on English, Arabic (including literacy for elderly), French and Computer skills for different age groups in Zaatari camp to help beneficiaries advance their academic education and/or their employment opportunities.

4- Cash for work CFW program; managing all recruitment, time sheets, scopes of work and contracts for beneficiaries enrolled in the cash for work program in IRD with coordination with cash for work working group and UNHCR. 

Main duties and responsibilities include:

Recruitment of volunteers and coaches for programs implementation (announcing, shortlisting interviewing, composing contracts, scopes of  work and time sheets, crosschecking eligible candidates to avoid duplication with other partners working in the camp).
Ensuring stipend distribution on a timely basis and in accordance with SOPs and guidelines.
Responsible for preparing monthly CFW fact-sheet based on the volunteers time-sheets and submitting it to finance.
Handle all complaints with regards to recruitment.
Develop programs' log-frames including goals, outcomes and indicators in coordination with UNHCR and partner NGOs.
Conduct baseline and end-line surveys to measure programs' impact.
Develop detailed annual work plans to follow up with programs' activities, targets and progress.
Develop plans for activities, events, sessions and curriculum as needed.
Facilitate regular meetings with members of the community to ensure open channels of communication and feedback in order to improve programs response to emerging needs.
Arrange and facilitate capacity building activities for coaches and volunteers engaged in the programs.
Identify needed materials and equipment for the programs, develop procurement plans and coordinate with procurement department on attaining necessary items. 
Support the art from zaatari committee by managing the art gallery in the camp and arranging for galleries out of camp in and out of Jordan.
Keep track of the programs' progress and challenges through daily field spot checks, weekly meetings with program staff, assessments and questionnaires.
Maintain close coordination with UNHCR, IRD's management and partner NGOs.
Represent IRD in donor visits, delegations and working groups.

Community Mobilizer à International Relief and Development

Working as a member of the Community Mobilization department in IRD, Zaatari camp (Community-based protection for Syrian refugees) project funded by UNHCR.

Work closely with refugees including community leaders and community based networks to increase community capacity and maximize participation, collaboration and ownership in IRD and UNHCR programs/projects.
Organize, facilitate and participate in community gatherings and FGDs.
Encourage and stimulate community participation with special attention to those who are often marginalized in community decision making (women, elderly, minorities and persons with disability).
