Converted to a regular Saudi Aramco employee handling same job responsibilities listed in previous employer field.
Was recruited to work for the Safety and Industrial Security Department in Saudi Aramco to handle radiation safety and compliance issues concerning x-ray screening systems and Explosives Vapor Detectors (contain sealed beta emitting Ni-63 radionuclide) under the possession of the department.
Created an inventory and a soft and hard copy filing system for the x-ray screening systems and the EVDs and collected all necessary documents to be in compliance with Environmental Protection Department / Radiation Protection Unit of S. Aramco and the regulatory authority (King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology).
Created an annual schedule for site visits to x-ray screening systems spread all over the kingdom to conduct a radiation leak inspection for each system.
With the help and support of Research and Development Cetner at Saudi Aramco, created a procedure of taking the contamination wipe samples for the NI-63 sources contained within the Explosives Vapor Detectors that is to be performed once every six months to comply with Saudi Aramco standards and regulatory authority.
Ordering and controlling radiation survey meters and keeping a record of calibration reports.
Attended NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials) workshop that was organized by Saudi Aramco Radiation Protection Unit on the 20th & 21st Of May, 2006.
Provide Lithological Measurements and Logs While Drilling to Saudi ARAMCO.
Lead Technician on ROP (Rate Of Penetration) and formation Gamma while drilling jobs and 2nd technician on Formation Evaluation while drilling jobs ( Jobs in which special logging tools are run to provide formation Gamma, Resistivity, Porosity, Density, Photo Electric effect, Pressure…while drilling to insure the well is drilled in the correct formation zone).
Job includes rigging up MWD/LWD unit by powering up, wiring and connecting various sensors such as; Pressure sensors, depth tracking sensors, drill string weight indicator sensors, pumps strokes counters…etc. and building the tools required to be picked up and run for the job according to drilling parameters ( Flow Rate, Mud Weight, drill bit nozzles total flow area…).
Load and extract sources in and out of Nuclear Tools used to evaluate formation Porosity and density after conducting all necessary measures and precautions to minimize Radiation exposure to rig personnel and our selves.
Shoot Surveys at different stations while drilling to verify well path.
