Setec Middle East (global design & consultancy firm - 3000 people active with offices around the world)
Managing country operations for Setec in Saudi Arabia, including implementation of strategic plans for business development and growth, operational effectiveness, human resource acquisition and management, and for financial performance. I have also been actively engaged in technical and commercial proposal development as well as for engaging with senior client representatives.
Complementing mainline operational responsibilities, by also overseeing technical and contract performance for ongoing client engagements - including for the Royal Commission for AlUla whereat Setec is serving as Program Management Consultant (PgMC) & Project Management/ Construction Management (PM/CM) Consultant as well as Project Management Consultant on the Diriyah Gate development and King Salman Park engagements in Riyadh
2. Arcadis (Middle East Performance Excellence Lead Role) - following merger of Arcadis, EC Harris & Hyder Consulting - a key element of the global ARCADIS strategy for 2014 to 2016 was a focus on performance and collaboration to support delivery of exceptional and sustainable outcomes to clients. Performance Excellence was a key enabler to identify opportunities and design solutions that could help achieve the following: (a) Accelerate organic growth (b) Improve margins by driving operational efficiency (c) Leverage organizational knowledge.
Four major work streams requiring design/implementation were identified: (a) Bidding to Win Work (b) Project Management (c) Project Resource Optimization (d) Change Management (required to implement changes in (a), (b) and (c) above)
The Middle East Performance Excellence Program also had an immediate short-term objective of closing the gap between performance and planned 2016 targets in relation to (a) Net Revenue (b) Operating EBITA and (C) Operating EBITA % Margin.
3. Hyder Consulting (Regional Major Projects Director) - 386 live projects including (a) 105 projects in transport & infrastructure (b) 191 projects in the properties sector and (c ) 90 projects in the utilities & environment sector - My responsibilities included (a) regional project management training & categorization (b) attending weekly regional project performance review meetings with finance, business and commercial directors (c) carrying out selected project reviews across the sectors/offices (d) ensuring sectors project reviews are carried out and signed off by the sector business directors (d) discuss/deal with early warnings & ensure risk mitigation measures are implemented at project, programme, sector and corporate level (e) participate in the development of the project management plan on all major projects including the project financial statement setup (in MS Dynamics 365) for sectors, functions, disciplines, procurement/contract strategies, internal/regional buyins and global design centers involvement (Manila & Bangalore) (f) ensure latest management directives on business model, hybis rates, risk/profit release mechanisms etc are implemented (g) involved in all major projects, project boards (h) day to day dealings with regional managing director, regional finance director, sector directors, quality manager, project managers/directors.
