The System Administrator (SA) is the technical expert on duty responsible for technical components of the C2ISR system in the C2I centre of the SHQ and related RRS, including fixed and mobile surveillance and communications equipment. The main objective is the uninterrupted functioning and reliable performance of the technical components of the system to ensure continuous availability of the C2ISR system for BG operations. The SA has the following responsibilities:
• Act as the direct interface from the Operations function to Technical Support Organization (including ISS) in the SHQ for corrective system maintenance situations;
• Report the sector technical status of the C2ISR system to the Operations Officer and System Engineer (SHQ);
• Contribute to assessment of the implications of system degradation to current operations;
• Define and initiate immediate logistic support with the Personnel & Logistics Planner for un-interrupted system operation;
• Inform System Engineer (SHQ) on major system incidents and related ongoing measures; and
• Ensure that the UHD is informed of all system incidents for system records.
1. Install all new peripherals, software and systems for data and voice networks equipments.
2. Repairing, testing and maintaining hardware like HP Printers and PC’s, Dell Servers and PC’s, Data and Voice network equipments and other peripheral devices.
3. Install, Configure and maintain Windows operating systems Windows XP, windows 7, Windows server 2003 and Windows server 2008
4. Configure all data and voice hardware i.e. Cisco Routers, Switches, Legacy PABX and IP PABX, Telephone devices and modems.
5. Perform troubleshooting analysis of data and voice network, servers, workstations, telephones, portable device and other associated systems.
6. Install and activate data and voice communication circuits.
7. Install, configure and maintain distribution and antivirus environment.
8. Provide IT support to user remotely by using remote utility tools.
Provide courses in the computer for several other ministries and other government agencies under the E-Qwafel project.
