Highlights:
• Managed the overall responsibility for safety of assigned plant and personnel, directed ongoing effectiveness of work processes, operating discipline, management systems, enabling technologies and roles.
• Worked in the Ethylene Cracker plant, to include the startup and shut down of the units, handling plant start-up, troubleshooting, emergency handling, interlock systems and shutdown activities operations from the panel & field and monitoring the environmental emission, safety, products quality and ensure the reliability of the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing strategic inputs in Operations strategy and operating plan, recommending/developing changes to operating and departmental procedures to improve the safety and effectiveness of the operations in alignment with expectations.
• Participating in the commissioning of new projects, capital deployment projects and product introduction program, ensuring equipments operate according to specifications and recommending changes to operating procedures, as required.
• Identifying run plan needs, assigning responsibility to operators, providing on the job training to plant personnel on safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, quality, production, cost etc to meet Business and plant goals, updating process parameters to ensure run plan achieves its targets along with quality of production.
• Serving as site steward of the change management process, monitoring process parameters via process control panel, locate deviations, check instruments periodically, instruct Maintenance to correct failures in order to keep the process in good mode and ready to use any time.
• Coordinating with operations to identify opportunities for productivity, quality and throughput improvements, then developing and implementing process technology to achieve those goals.
• Formulating daily reports and maintaining records pertaining to quality across different plant locations, devising monthly plans and KPI reports based on envisaged project deliverables.
• Working in an interdisciplinary team to define new opportunities and to find cost effective delivery of area specific operations goals and objectives including EHS, financial, quality and product supply.
• Managing and controlling all process equipment shutdown maintenance activities to minimize interruptions during production / injection programs by ensuring all shutdown requirements are in place prior to plant release.
• Responsible for improving instrumentation systems reliability through the development and implementation of a predictive and preventive systems maintenance process.
• Serving as the subject matter expert for technical/process, operating standards and practices; developing job scopes for capital and maintenance related engineering work to be executed in addition to coaching team members and managing People Systems, policies that apply to shift workers.
• Planning and organizing the shift staff. Maintaining plans for scheduling shifts, recording overtime in order to secure sufficient manpower for the various shifts.
