I am responsible for Technical Support to over 250 employees in BCG ME includes maintaining IT assets and IT infrastructure. My duty includes all the following but not limited to:

Setting and maintaining IT budgets for the ME office
Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, both onshore and offshore
Client site case team technical support to our teams in GCC
Participate in local, regional, and global projects, as appropriate, to evaluate existing systems and recommend technology for upgrade and replacement; evaluate new technologies for potential applicability within BCG
Monitor and optimize the mobile device/smart phones usage policies
Successfully implemented Y-Soft printing solution in Dubai office which not only helped in cutting down on reducing the number or printers and thus cost but also got the office in line with our global Green Policy
Provide a high level of customer service while supporting end users; (2nd Level) support includes, but is not limited to, laptops, PDAs, phone and voice mail systems
Work very closely with global BCG IT team
Oversee and troubleshoot video conference and telecommunications systems in coordination with regional technical resources
Manage local technology in order to increase reliability, security, interoperability, effectiveness of customer work while reducing costs
Set up AV equipment for internal/external meetings

Successfully deployed Global AstraZeneca NGT Vista Project. This includes:
Smooth transition from MS Windows 2000 to MS Windows Vista. Ensured ZERO downtime;
Project managed (which included Leading, coordinating and managing) work assigned to global consultants such as Accenture and IBM;
Launching of MS Communicator and briefed users on the potential impact which this technology may have in reducing internal (calls within AstraZeneca network) international calls; and
Scheduling, organizing and imparting effective and efficient training.
Worked closely with a third party vendor to develop an iPad e-detailing application. I added value by introducing a tool, which effectively monitors medical representative movements and actions (by way of page hits, duration and location of medical representative).
I was an integral part of the team that deployed the Regional Intranet Portal. My role required me:
To assimilate latest available data from various departments in a timely manner;
To co-ordinate with 3rd party vendors to upload the contents (department wise);
To maintain project progress logs; and
To help users understand type and nature of data available on Intranet.
Helped in successfully launching SAP implementation project. I was primarily responsible:
To assist Finance department in data migration from the legacy system to SAP. My SQL query writing skills coupled with advanced knowledge of excel immensely helped to tabulate data in line with the global SAP template; and
To appraise global consultants and finance department on weekly project status.
My technical skills, diligent approach and commitment to project substantially helped in maintaining the accuracy of migrated data. This resulted in error minimization and significant time savings during SAP implementation.

In addition to project implementation, I have also been responsible for providing daily support to over 150 users, based in Pakistan and throughout GCC. This work stream entails me to perform following tasks:
Manage Network Resources;
Desktop User Support;
Monitor implementation of Security and Access Door system, carried out by 3rd party vendors;
Record and maintain IT equipments. In order to perform this effectively, I developed a database application where in the IT equipment and infrastructure information is stored centrally;
Interaction with local/global IT vendors; and
Ensure Company’s data security by introducing various control mechanisms such as storing back up’s off site, tailoring and implementing global disaster recovery plan and installing and managing data encryption software’s.

. Primarily I was engaged in:

I planned, designed and set up a LAN infrastructure for a fully operational manufacturing factory, based in Sudan, and having more than 250 employees. The following main tasks were performed:
Planned and designed the IT network of Target Steel Industries;
Procured IT equipments and software;
Supervised network cabling, performed by third party vendor;
Setup F&P server, security features including Windows firewall;
Setup Active Directory and Backup Server (including off site backup’s); and
Tailored windows to meet company’s requirements.
