As a senior medical officer, with a primary responsibility for conducting initial assessments of patients to identify urgent medical needs. I worked closely with senior physicians, and collaborated with senior registrars to manage and stabilize acutely ill patients, in the emergency department and the ward. As well as, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions. Additionally, i assisted in developing comprehensive plans of management for each patient, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken for optimal care. In emergency situations, I confidently managed cases in the emergency department, applied critical thinking and medical expertise to provide immediate care. Furthermore, i conducted regular follow-ups with patients to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

Senior Medical Officer- Obstetrics & Gynecology at Omdurman General Teaching Military Hospital

My responsibilities included conducting initial assessment, regular fetal heart rate assessments, assisting in regular ultrasonography follow-ups of the mother and assessing the overall progress of the pregnancy by closely monitoring and following up on the mother and fetus. I contributed to the effective monitoring of labor progression, and to the development of treatment plans, and management decisions. During a normal vaginal delivery (NVD), I played an active role in providing care and support to the mother, and under the supervision of senior healthcare professionals, I assisted in the normal vaginal delivery process, as well as ensuring the mother's comfort, monitoring her vital signs, providing guidance and ensuring that the mother is recovering well. In addition, I assisted in both elective and emergency c-sections. Along with obstetric care, i consistently assisted in various gynecological procedures such as Dilation and evacuation (D&E) under direct supervision by my senior residents and specialists.
Regular weekly hospital rounds were conducted, in which I actively participated in. In addition to presenting various cases in morbidity and mortality meetings.

My duties and responsibilities included overseeing both the operating room and the ward. I conducted initial assessments on surgery and trauma patients in the emergency department, and performed minor operations such as (surgical excision of lipomas, fibroadenomas, and ganglions) under direct supervision, Additionally, I assisted in both elective and emergency operations to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety. In the ward, i collaborated with senior registrars and consultants to discuss the plan of management for patients and adjusting their management plan accordingly.
I actively participated in the unit's teaching sessions. My role also involved attending the outpatient department (OPD) weekly with which allowed me to expand my clinical skills and knowledge.
