• Headed all aspects of rail planning and studies in collaboration with financial modeling and pricing, business development, and transport and economic planning teams.
• Spearheaded the development and safekeeping of the UAE National Railway Project business case and financial model, verified by Oliver Wyman and audited by Ernst & Young (E&Y).
• Obtained detailed results from the model as financial indicators (NPV, IRR) and financial statements (cashflow, P&L, balance sheet) to generate forecasts for 30 years.
• Re-assessed the CAPEX segmentation of the UAE National Railway Project to adjust the company direction from pure engineering to business orientation.
• Examined and divided investments components, such as mainline track, branches, public facilities, and private facilities, to be linked with switching on business lines (aggregates, Intermodal, General Cargo), customer dedicated lines (based on customer off-takes).
• Combined dedicated lines in order to enable management to provide justification for the CAPEX and modify the phasing of the project based financial feasibility.
• Examined the existing supply chain of all freight transport modes (road vs. maritime, local & international, product types) and generated traffic forecast for no-rail scenarios.
• Analyzed the behavior of people in transit from door to door, including private vehicles vs. buses vs. taxis and work vs leisure and generated traffic forecast for No-Rail Scenario.
• Provided advisement on pricing ranges to management along with potential profit margins and impact on the project business case (EBITDA, IRR and NPV).
• Conducted a silk road study to evaluate global transports of different modes and ways in which rail could feed into the existing routes and emphasize UAE role in the silk road.
• Partnered with banks and financial consultants to conduct a financial study of suitable types of financing for the project.
• Directed and oversaw the project procurement team with accountability for the procurement of UAE National Railway Project, from prequalification to contract preparations.
• Negotiated optimal savings with Tenderers, generating approximately >30 AED Million.
• Generated and presented reports on outcomes and analytical results related to project procurement to the Procurement Committee and Executive Committee.
• Championed the five-year strategic and operational plan for the Procurement Unit.
I had a scholarship from Abu Dhabi Education Council from 2008 to 2011 , I was twice on the dean list for a GPA of 3.70 or above, received awards from a participation in a club in Zayed University, received awards from ADEC for excellence during the scholarship years, I had an internship for 2 months in Masdar where I was rotated in Treasury, accounts payable and employee reimbursements. In addition, I scored 7.0 on IELTS , and Hold 2 Certificates for Spanish Language (DELE).
