Responsible for Overall Managing of the Fixed Assets Team looking after AMEA Region. Was also involved in financial planning and analysis and was involved in Management Reporting
General Accounting/Reconciliations/MIS Reporting:
1. Handled the process of Month End Accounting, Performance of detailed independent account reviews & other analytics -Trend analysis, root-cause analysis of open items.
2. Prepared Month Close Metrics, MJE Tracker for the entire APAC Finance Team
3. Provided Sub-ledger Supports to the reconciliations team for the various Balance Sheet accounts which would include accounts in the nature of accruals, prepaid, tax etc. Additionally, also ascertain that accruals have been timely released to the P&L, and incase of amortization, the prepaid balances are amortized monthly as per the invoice.
4. Compiling CRM Dashboard to keep a track of Journals processed, issues faced.
Handled System Changes (Oracle Transition):American Express migrated its General ledger system to Oracle platform on Nov’10, was a SPOC for the EMEA team for “Oracle Go Live Project”
1. Assisted Team Members on Conversion of all POD MJEs to new Oracle Chart of Account format.
2. Enabled changes in processes wherever required due to change in GL and Reporting platform, for this worked with technical team to develop macros and templates as per Oracle requirement
3. Prepared matrix in order to streamline the project on time and without any major outages.
SOX Attestations/Audits:Ensured quarterly SOX attestation of the processes & attestation of accounts.
1. Handled the critical process of Finance Charge Revenue (FCR) and SOX testing for the same is done.
2. Worked with Internal MJE Audit Team to ensure that journals are in compliance with MJE policy and procedures
3. Quarterly sub attestation was done of the account balances under our ownership in which entries are requested by the Market/Controllership.
Worked as an extended arm of our US counterpart for Underwriting of Loans for their Commercial Lending Business - Collateralized against Real Estate Properties.
Dealt in:
Projected Cash Flows for the property by analyzing the financials of the property such as Financial Statements, Proforma, Rent Roll and Broker’s package.
Examining the sources of repayment as well as credit history and Borrower’s ability, Estimation of Annul Debt Service (ADS) and Calculation of Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR).
SWOT Analysis for the property, Market Analysis, Estimation of Physical Occupancy, Market Vacancy etc.
