Responsible for the maintenance and uptime of all ground service equipment (Push Back Tugs, Tow Tractors, Air Start Units, Cobus Buses, Ground Power Units, Air Condition Units, Forklifts, Belt loaders, Cargo Pallet loaders, Catering Trucks, Medical Loaders etc.) with a team of 56 technical staff.
Responsible for the 24x7 workshop as a profit center with authority to approve purchases upto AED 30K.
Supervising the day to day activities, maintenance and repair work;
Ensuring quick turn-around of equipment by executing repairs efficiently; at times with innovative solutions.
Checking all incident reports and verifying all out-going equipment reports.
Ensuring that a maintenance schedule is followed for the equipment as per the manufacturers’ recommendations.
Ensuring proper records and documents of equipment are maintained.
Coordinating with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth and quick service.
Planning staff duty roster, monitoring staff attendance and assigning work to junior supervisors.
Responsible for staff appraisals.
Going out to various companies to bring business.
Opening job cards and preparing annual maintenance contracts.
Follow-up with workshop supervisor to get the job completed on time.
Attending to all customer queries.
Preparing job cards and estimates for all kinds of vehicle repairs.
Carrying out test drives after completion of job.
Maintenance of heavy industrial equipment like Hyster Fork-lifts 3Ton - 32Ton, Kalmar empty container handler, Simon lifts, Kalmar tow truck tractors, Scania dump trucks, Hino trucks, Isuzu pick-ups, Caterpillar Generator, Leyland buses.
Vehicle inspection, identifying work to be carried out of repairs.
Attending to break-down of Port vehicles
Managing work flow in the workshop.
Scheduling and assigning jobs to technicians.
Receiving vehicles for mechanical, electrical and body repairs.
Scoping works to be carried out and providing estimation for repairs.
Liaising with customers with regards to spare parts and delivery
Liaising with spare parts dealers with regards to spares and delivery.
Giving estimates for repairs and quotations for spare parts.
Managing work flow in the workshop.
Scheduling and assigning jobs to technicians
Trading, renting-out and maintenance of used cars and motorcycles.
Successfully completed Training Courses at DP World - Technical Training Centre Jebel Ali (05Nov to 30Nov 2006) • Basic First Aid, CPR & AED for Community • Industrial Hydraulics Course
National Trade Certificate – Mechanic Motor Vehicle I.T.I Diploma in Motor Mechanic (Aug 1993 to July 1995) The Industrial Training Institute – Goa, approved by the National Council of Vocational Training, Ministry of Labour – Govt. of India.
