As student of Mass communication in Print Journalism and a beauty blogger, I am confident in my ability to create informative and engaging blog posts and articles. I have been blogging for 2 years and it has enabled me to sharpen my writing skills, which ensure a pull of traffic to my blog. Besides blogging I have contributed to Read magazine, distributed at metro stations across local magazines in the UAE. With social media I have a big number of followers estimated 55 thousand.
I interned at Gulf News for six weeks, where I enhanced my writing and research skills. I learnt how to conduct a professional piece of news writing with a great deal of practice and guidance of my supervisors within the news station. Gulf News have published two of my articles.
I was chosen to be TRESemmes Gulf region representer at the New York fashion week. I was accompanied with a camera crew to aid me with the broadcast. We had exclusive backstage passess to all the top designers such as Carolina Herrera, Max Azria, Diane Von Frustenburg and Alice&Olivia. I had the honour to have a one on one interview with renowned designers such as Diane Von Frustenburg; I interviewed the top models and celebrity hairstylists too. I also reported on the runway shows and street-style segment in New York City.
I attended a brief internship with ELLE Arabia fashion magazine in Dubai Media City, where I was taught not only the editorial side of the company, but also the business aspects as to how to run the advertisements and sponsorships with the high end fashion brands. I attended fashion events and fashion runway shows and created reports. Also I attended business meetings with my supervisor with other companies to discuss the arrangements of the advertisements within the magazine.
As a volunteer I learnt how to work as a team member and what are the keys to having a successful event with proper coordination.
