My main assignment was the implementation of my senior project entitled “Intelligent Building Management System“ as a part of the USEK- ITEC cooperation approaching senior engineering projects to the industrial world from one side, and highlighting the importance of energy efficiency and energy consumption in the buildings from the other side.
For this purpose, I have accomplished the following:
- Integrating intelligence in the Automation Level of the BMS, by implementing new smart ideas using PLC Control Programming Languages.
- Adding Intelligence in the Management Level through the Human Machine Interface.
- Completing a simulation of many scenarios on a mock-up representing the building.
The project environment extended from using the TwinCAT software allowing us to employ our PC microprocessor as a PLC to being implemented on Beckhoff PLCs and on Indusoft software used for the design of the Human Machine Interface, passing by the communication between TwinCAT and Indusoft.
Internship description:
- Landline-basic elements of the telephone outside plant: Main Distribution Frame, Manholes and telephone pole.
- Types of telephone cables and Fiber Optics.
- Wireless Local Loops (WLL) installed in far villages where wired telephone cables could not reach.
- DSL
In addition to the above, I have supervised
- The installation of telephone cables in Tarchich area.
- The installation of WLL in Bekaatouta and Kfardebian areas.
Hardware and software training on multiple platforms and brands.
