-Taking responsibility for the day to day running of the Primary section, ensuring that all personnel are well informed and have all the information they need in order to carry out their professional duties effectively
-Supporting the organisation of timetables and cover across the Primary section
-Monitoring teaching across Primary, ensuring the highest standards are achieved, and supporting staff to develop and maintain outstanding practice (Class and Specialist Teachers)
-Monitoring the quality of learning, ensuring pupil work is of a consistently high standard and feedback supports children in making progress and feeds into planning and target setting
-Working in the classroom alongside colleagues in order to support initiatives for raising achievement and the quality of teaching and learning
-Taking a strategic role in the development of new and emerging technologies to enhance and extend the learning experience of pupils across the school
-Creating and updating School Development Action Plans
-Monitoring and supporting the delivery of the curriculum by working alongside practitioners as they plan (long term, medium and short term)
-Offering advice and support to teaching and other colleagues regarding their training needs, in line with priorities set out in the School Development Plan
-Having a high profile and actively engage with pupils and parents/carers to support children’s achievement and wellbeing across the school
-Creating and promoting positive strategies for challenging racial and other prejudice and dealing with racial harassment
-Actively supporting identification of vulnerable pupils in the Primary section, plan appropriate support with the inclusion team and monitor its impact
-Conducting interviews for prospective employees within the Primary and EYFS section

-Demonstrating excellent practice as a teacher and maintaining a good knowledge of current thinking in the defined core curriculum area and primary education
-Monitoring the quality of teaching and learning, ensuring pupil work is of a consistently high standard and feedback supports children in making progress and feeds into planning and target setting
-Working in the classroom alongside colleagues in order to support initiatives for raising achievement and the quality of teaching and learning
-Monitoring and supporting the delivery of the curriculum by working alongside practitioners as they plan (long term, medium and short term)
-Having a high profile and actively engage with pupils and parents/carers to support children’s achievement and wellbeing, both in the Phase and across the school

-Leading English Department meetings, ensuring a focus on improving student outcomes
-Actively monitoring and following up student progress in English across Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary
-Ensuring all staff follow the expectations of the school and maintain the highest professional standards at all times
-Supporting targeted teachers to ensure a standardised structure of teaching and learning
-Liaising with the assigned member of the Senior Leadership Team in order to ensure appropriate response is made to curriculum development
-Overseeing the department’s use of data to monitor and track learner attainment and progress, identifying underachievement and forming appropriate interventions to ensure that the targets of all learners are met
-Supporting and assisting colleagues to ensure that they understand and are actively implementing the key aspects of the School's Behaviour Policy
-Teaching English, Maths, Social Studies, National Education, Moral Education and Citizenship in Years 4-6
-Instructing students in the language arts including reading comprehension, writing, grammar and visual literacy (core subject)
-Maintaining classroom discipline in line with the school policies
-Planning and delivering lessons according to the NCfE standards
-Monitoring and recording students’ work and achievements on a regular basis using Target Tracker, CAT 4 and GL Assessment results to drive planning
-Using educational and behavioural psychology in the classroom and training
-Implementing strategies to teach a variety of determined students, e.g. students afflicted with autism
-Regularly reporting to and communicating with parents to assure best child development
-Supporting other staff members in teaching strategies, pedagogy and behaviour management
-Teaching English, Math, Science, Social Studies in Grade 2
-Incorporating co-operative and differentiated learning strategies into the lessons
-Instructing students in the language arts including reading comprehension, writing and visual literacy
-Maintaining classroom discipline in line with the school policies
-Planning, preparing and conducting lessons across the curriculum
