I started to work for Celebrity Cruises as Snack Attendant the first step to get experience in restaurant field, I was assigned to work at the buffet, cleaning tables, beverage services, attending guests’ requests, general cleaning of the venue. Then I got the opportunity to work in a Bistro restaurant, taking orders, serving meals, beverage service.
Later I got promotion as assistant waiter in the Main Dining room onboard, preparing the assigned station, taking care of guests with allergies or special diet, food and beverage service in coordination with the waiter. Then they assigned me to another restaurant which was just for guests with other type of category, it was more exclusive with personalized service.
Suddenly I got the opportunity to get another promotion in the restaurant management team as Restaurant Hostess where the principal activity was the dining room coordination for future cruises, assigned tables according to the requests or groups, use of the system “Silverwhere” and “Metaframe”, reservations, promote specialty restaurants for revenue, dinner planning, follow up of dining problems, making documents or reports that Restaurant Manager ask for, service supervision, support in all events that F&B department may be involved.
Front desk supervisor, welcoming the guests, ensure that all needs and guests preferences were attended, solution of problems or complaints, personalized service to the guests that were subscribe to the loyal program.
I gained more experience as a supervisor and more confidence in solution of problems.
Working directly with the “Subsecretario”, making the redaction of different documents like reports, memorandums, commission trades, reception of correspondence, attending government events and other activities mandated by the “Subsecretario”.
Welcoming the guests, room assignments, check-in, check-out, receiving payments, INNSIST system use, telephone care, resolving concerns or guests complaints, night audit, support the rest of the hotel areas (housekeeping, kitchen).
