-Leading a team of Mechanical Engineers and Draftsmen to review, track, upgrade and redesign (where needed) the MEP design packages (concept design, preliminary design, draft final design and final) for the Metro Stations and Park & Ride Buildings of Line 5 & 6 in accordance with the Employer Requirements, Project Specifications, Local Authorities’ Standards and International Codes while respecting the Project Budget and Schedule.
-Review of the Metro Stations and Park & Ride Buildings HVAC systems. Validate the Cooling Load and the Ventilation Capacities calculations. Confirm the chilled water pumping and the fans capacities calculations, Endorse the selection and sizing of the HVAC equipment, hydronic piping, air ducting and thermal insulation. Check the sound proofing and insulation for the noisy equipment and ensure the noise criteria for every space is acceptable.
-Review of the Metro Stations and Park & Ride Buildings Plumbing and Fire Fighting systems (Water Supply, Sewage, Rain Water and Fuel Oil Networks). Validate the hydraulic, demand and flow rates calculations. Confirm the selection and sizing of the Plumbing equipment, tanks, pumping, treatment and piping.
-Review the Building Management System Matrices controlling the Mechanical Systems of the Metro Stations and Park & Ride Buildings.
-Review and Redesign the Irrigation networks related to the urban enhancement of the streets adjacent to Line 4, 5 & 6 including the construction of new irrigation tanks and pump rooms. Coordination with the related Stakeholders.
-Design and follow up the water supply, storm water and waste water networks related to urban enhancement of the streets adjacent to Line 6. Design and supervise the utility diversion works affecting the Metro Line 6. Coordination with the related Stakeholders.
-Continuous coordination with the Stations and Park & Ride Buildings Architects, Structural, Electrical and Landscape Design Teams to ensure the harmony between different trades and avoid clashes and conflicts.
-Design and follow up the Metro Stations, Park & Ride Buildings and Depot Buildings’ water supply, sewage and rain water connections to public networks for Line 4, 5 & 6. Coordination with the related Stakeholders.
-Prepare presentations for critical issues and present to the client and consultants. Investigate, analyze and assess claims and variations requested by the subcontractors and report back to the client. Support the contract team to submit letters to the Employer related to MEP works.
-Review Mechanical services shop drawings, O&M manuals and reply to the subcontractors’ queries.
-Carry out public utilities surveys to identify and confirm the design and coordinate with the relevant Stakeholders to fix the requirements, get the approvals and undertake the inspections on site.
-Assign subcontractors to execute the utilities works. Follow up, supervise and manage the utilities execution works taking into consideration all safety measures according to international norms.
-Review the utility shop drawings and materials. Inspect the works on site. And prepare as built packages.
-Monitor and control Quantity survey and payment certificates. Coordinate with QA/QC and accounting departments.
-Prepare presentations for critical issues and present to the clients and different consultants.
-Investigate, analyze and assess claims and variations requested by the different subcontractors.
-Support the contract team to submit letters to the client related to utilities works.
-Coordinate with different consortiums, consultants, operators, Stakeholders and client to unify the utilities approach along the Metro project.
-Prepare and review the Method Statements and Inspection Test Plans for underground utility works.
-Coordinate with the project control department to monitor and control the project schedule and budget.
-Handover the executed works to the client and operators.

Respect the fire safety standards (NFPA, French Code, Local Codes, etc.). Validate the Fire Fighting hydraulic calculations using ELITE software.
-Design of buildings’ Fuel and Gas systems. Calculation of energy demand, pumps’ head and flow rates complete with the selection and sizing of suitable equipment for every project (Tanks, pumps, valves, etc.).
-Selection and Sizing of buildings’ hydronic, gas and fuel piping.
-Prepare the Building Management System Matrix controlling all the mechanical systems.
-Review the book of specifications to ensure the suitability for the project.
-Prepare bill of quantities for building’s mechanical services.
-Supervise the mechanical services execution. Review shop drawings, material submittals, as built drawings, O&M manuals and payment certificates and undertake site inspections. Handover the systems to the O&M team.
-Analyze and assess claims and variation orders raised by the subcontractors.
-Peer review, value engineering and design enhancement for buildings’ mechanical services.
-Studied possibilities to introduce renewable energy systems within different projects’ designs. Support the clients to get LEED certification and introduce sustainable systems in the projects.
-Assessment for special conditions projects; e.g. the study of a sea water cooling plant via special heat exchangers and water cooled chillers.
