• Gathering information from clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile.
• Negotiating with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance for clients at the best price.
• Renewing or amending existing policies.
• Administrative tasks such as dealing with paperwork, correspondence, keeping detailed records;
• Collecting insurance premiums and processing accounts.
• Processing all transactions done with local and international banks (placements, borrowing, foreign exchange and swap deals).
• Reconciliation of all foreign exchange transactions.
• Processing foreign exchange transactions done with clients such as forwards, futures and buying on margin.
• Preparing journal entries on a day-to-day basis to properly record financial transactions.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and additional financial reporting.
• Communicating directly with clients and insurance brokers.
• Maintaining customer confidence and protecting operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Calculating and preparing checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments.
• Preparing bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks.
Getting familiar with the banking business process:
• Dealing with customers queries face to face, over the telephone or in writing.
• Serving customers at the counter.
• Understanding customer needs, recommending suitable products and making sales.
• Processing paperwork from sales, change of customer details, and closure of accounts.
• Learning about new products, services and processes.
