Appointed as Veterinary Laboratory Consultant for EADS-QGOSM at Central Veterinary Laboratory in Qatar having the
following duties:
- Provide consultancy and expertise according to ISO 17025:2005 requirements
- Implement and improve quality management system
- Contribute to the writing of general management procedures
- Upgrade the technical level of all lab Units (Microbiology, Parasitology, Virology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry,
Pathology)
- Review working procedures and organize method validations and estimation of uncertainty (for Automated Biochemical
analysis, Automated haematological analysis, ELISA, Agglutination Tests)
- Organize and conduct trainings regarding management & technical requirements of ISO 17025:2005
- Conduct training in statistics, measurement of uncertainty and the implementation of internal quality control
Worked at the Greek National Reference Laboratory for Marine Biotoxins of the Institute of Food Hygiene of Thessaloniki under the ISO 17025 requirements and conducted:
- Chemical analyses for the determination of the concentration levels of marine biotoxins by use of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Liquid Chromatography with tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
- Mouse bioassays for the implementation of the European Union’s monitoring programme for PSP (Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning) and DSP (Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning) marine biotoxins
- Mouse breeding and database maintenance
Worked at the Food Microbiology Department of the Public Veterinary Laboratory of Komotini under the ISO 17025 requirements and conducted the following microbiological analyses:
- Salmonella spp in meat, cheese, ice cream, milk, butter and shellfish according to ISO 6579
- E.coli in meat, cheese, milk, butter according to ISO 16649- 1 or 2 and shellfish according to ISO TS 16649 - 3 (MPN)
- Listeria monocytogenes in baby food and milk according to ISO 11290 - 1
- Staphylococcus Aureus in milk and cheese according to ISO 6888 - 1 or 2
- Aerobic colony count according to ISO 4833
- Star Protocol (Screening Test for Antibiotic Residues) in milk and animal tissue
Served military service and performed the following activities:
-Carried out food safety controls in various military food supplying units
-Participated in the sampling process.
-Conducted microbiological examinations in food and water samples for:
Salmonella spp, E.coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus Aureus and aerobic colony count
