 Act on behalf of the Political Office in Kirkuk as the day to day focal point to the governorate, municipal and local
authorities, including the Provincial Council .
 Stay abreast of all relevant information on the developments, programs, projects and activities pertinent to the
UNAMI mandate in the political, constitutional, electoral areas .
 Report on a regular basis key developments in the UNAMI mandate areas .
 Establish contact and report on activities of political parties, civil society and national and international NGOs .
 Keep abreast of local media and press reports on political developments surrounding the issue of Kirkuk and
other disputed areas.
 Draft reports, convene meetings, prepares minutes of meetings and correspondence related to the work of the
office.
 Monitor local and regional political events and news and report it to the office.
 Attend political meetings to translate for both parties from the local three languages (Arabic, Kurdish, and
Turkmen) to English and vice versa.
