Oxygen Care provides device and information solutions within OR, ICU, Perinatal and Ambulatory Care settings. This is a new, customer focused position to provide technical expertise in the provision of Clinical Information Systems to support activities in these areas.
This position entails:
• Pre-sales support and lead generation. In this, understanding customer and stakeholder needs is crucial. This is maintained by direct contact with customers (technical and clinical) as well as exposure in environments such as eHealth Ireland, HSE CCIO and industry exhibitions.
• Implementation and configuration
• Post-implementation technical support, and support desk management
• Account management for CIS accounts
• Building business case for new developments in the Health IT industry that may suit the portfolio offered by Oxygen Care. This requires broad appreciation of new technologies and products as they appear in both research or market-ready.

Biotronics3D is a small, but growing company, providing a cloud-based imaging platform specifically aimed at Radiology Services. My involvement has been:

Managing the Customer Services team, including:
• Project Management and technical lead on new sites involving hardware specification, software installation and configuration, and interface (DICOM and HL7) development and testing.
• Management of Customer Helpdesk, leading resolution and driving improvement, coordinating issues between Tier 1, 2 and 3 support
• Management of user expectation in the delivery of service.
Operations Management, including:
• Monitoring stability and performance of a global farm of cloud platforms providing imaging services.
• Planning and implementing technical strategy for the optimisation of the stability and performance of services delivered.
• General IT services within the company itself.

Incorporating responsibilities of CTO and Programme Manager, this position has the responsibility for defining and implementing new systems within the IT department of a heavily computerised hospital. The hospital has international renown as a leader in the use of IT in the delivery of healthcare, and has made use of integrated clinical systems since 1984. The reliance on IT services by the hospital is significant, and is reflected by the level of technical expertise within the IT department.

Project management of multiple simultaneous projects of various sizes utilising principles of PRINCE2 methodology - from business case development, requirements definition, to product/system delivery and project decommission.
Major projects with which I have/have had responsibility as Analyst, Architect and Project Manager:
• Architect and Project Manager for a hospital-wide PACS/RIS (Picture Archival and Communication System), developed in-house and successfully providing service for 11 years until its replacement as part of the NIMIS national PACS procurement.
• Management of the implementation and day to day support of hospital-wide EPR/PAS
• IT Project Manager for the replacement of PACS/RIS with NIMIS national solution, including technical analysis, project planning and data migration.
• Defining requirements for, and implementation of, HL7 interfaces between clinical systems.
• PC support aids and helpdesk support.
• Document Imaging - including:
• Established Emergency Department Scanning and Distribution solution achieved within cost-neutral constraints.
• Current Medical Chart scanning development.
• Technology evaluation for an Internet-based Master’s degree in Radiological Sciences, maintaining the ‘classroom experience’ in a distance learning context.
• Migration of current HIS/PAS to contemporary platforms.
• Implementation of giga-bit hospital network
• Provision of fail-over and disaster recovery facilities. Responsibility for Business Continuity processes including virtualisation (VMWare) of server estate of over 100 servers.
• Support service engineering - delivering support infrastructure for day-to-day support of systems subsequent to delivery.
