Job Description: A staff nurse's duty includes making nursing assessment, taking vital signs and history, providing bedside nursing care and procedures for critically ill patients hooked to a ventilator, sponge bath, suctioning, nebulization, tracheostomy care, feeding through the nasogastric tube, PEG or TPN, central venous pressure monitoring, performing 12-lead ECG, administering medications, blood transfusions, taking ABG's IV insertion, preparing patients for procedures like ultrasound, CT Scan, 2d-Echo, Craniotomy, Angiogram, coiling of aneurysm, surgical procedures and carrying out and transcribing physician's orders.

Job Description: The 36 bed C1 unit provides comprehensive 24-hour nursing care for stable adult and pediatric requiring care for malignant and/ or congenitally related diseases which require complex diagnostic work -up, major complex surgery or treatment follow-up. Management and care of adult and pediatric patients with neurosurgical, epilepsy and radiation oncology conditions, patient's preparation for procedures such as CT/MRI, cerebral angiogram, Pet Scan/Bone scan, biopsy and lumbar punctures, central line management, continuous and intermittent pain management, continuous nursing assessments of patient's physical and emotional needs and corresponding therapeutic interventions, oxygen therapy and pulse ox meter, patient and family education, psychosocial and emotional support, infection control and safety management.
