I am currently working in this prestigious multinational private hospital as a Shoulder and Upper Limb Surgeon.
I have been an Orthopaedic Surgeon for the past 23 years after having finished training at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi.This training was started after graduation in March 1985 and completion of internship at Civil Hospital Karachi from March 1985 to March 1986.Then a stint as a GP. Joined the Aga Khan Residency training program in 1986 as a Surgical Resident completed this in 1989 and then joined Orthopaedics.
Following completion of training I moved to UK and in the meantime secured Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.Worked in the UK in various hospitals and also completed a two year training programme on the East Anglia Rotation.
Following this started to work independently in October 1995 at the Dartford Hospitals. Did all of the IM Nailings .Lot of trauma and a large number of total hip and knee replacements. Knee arthroscopies were also done as a routine.
Continued to operate independently but moved to Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester.Added hand portfolio to operating skills doing complicated hand and wrist trauma plus reconstructive surgery.Learned to do wrist, shoulder and elbow arthroscopies.
Moved to Australia as Staff Specialist/Consultant at North West Regional Hospital Tasmania.Developed my arthroscopic and joint replacements skills further.Worked in Australia till December 2009 and then did a years Consultant Locum In Orthopaedics In UK.
Started a substantive position as Acting Consultant at Al Ain Hospital till September 2014 and followed by a short 6 month stint in Pakistan at the AO Clinic in Karachi.
Have a lot of experience in trauma, elective orthopaedics.
Have been actively involved in student and junior doctor teaching. Was Clinical Instructor University of Tasmania and University of Abu Dhabi Medical School Al Ain.
