Provide technical expertise support to area maintenance sections to maintain and operate electrical systems, safely and efficiently ensuring reliability and availability. Electrical equipment installed on the plant includes Generators, Motors, Transformers, Switch gears, UPS systems, IPCS, VFD. This equipment originates from a large variety of world manufacturers and varies from new up to date designs to twenty-year-old technology.
• To comply with GASCO Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS)and also promote awareness among the staff
• To conduct Internal Safety audit of the Installations
• To review the periodic shutdown work plans and integrate activities with other
• sections for their execution.
• Responsible for technological up gradation of obsolete equipment, preparation /execution of Plant PCRs for modification in existing facilities.
• To compile/provide input for preparation of division/department Capital, Operating and 5 year Plan budgets, and monitor/control expenditure.
• To carry out detailed engineering, prepare scope of work, technical evaluation and execution for Capital, Extraordinary Maintenance (ECM) and Major Maintenance(MM) activities
• To review the existing maintenance practices and support implementation of innovative modern methodologies for enhanced productivity leading to Improvement in MTBF To ensure optimum utilization of the CMMS (MAXIMO) system for maintaining job history and data quality so as to ensure retrieval of quality Information.
• To perform High Voltage switching activities.
• To prepare method statements for critical jobs, verify electrical procedures and
• instructions.
• To support Contracts Teams for technical evaluation of bids and inspection of materials on receipt
• To ensure development / implementation of Competency Based Training /Development programs, through use of Development Plans and UAE Nationalization directives.
• Management Representative for ISO 9001:2008
Commissioning of ABB Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Soft starters and ABB L.V Switchgears involves Following activities:
• Insulation Tests and High Voltage tests for Switchgear
• Loading and upgrading the software for PLC used for VFD, Switchgear Control
• To establish the PROFIBUS / MODBUS, CAN Bus, IEC61850 Communication between VFD, Relays, Soft starter and other third party equipment’s to DCS System.
• Modifications in the existing circuit and Software’s as per the conditions onsite
• To carry out incoming and outgoing hard wired and DCS signal checks,
• Synchronization Generators to the grids using ABB Control panels for Synchronization.
• To check the interlocks for the Isolators and breakers.
• To carry out Short Circuit and Open circuit tests
• To carry out Protection tests of the Generator, Feeder, Transformer, Motor Protection Relays
• After complete checks, updating the circuit diagrams with red corrections, completion of Commissioning reports and submission to the concerned authority,
• Giving seminars after completion of each of the commissioning projects
• Providing onsite training to the maintenance staff at customer site.
• Working on High Voltage equipment’s and LV/MV Switch Gears,
• Relay settings and handling relay setting equipment’s like OMIKRON and Sverker,
• PLC programming and modifications,
• Synchronous Generator power, voltage control and settings
