Prior to this employed as practice lead for Atkins Oman, leading the design and supervision works undertaken by Atkins. Acting as project director on major and complex projects in Oman.

Employed as Senior Project Manager, for all construction and design related activities on a large scale super-block development in central Jakarta. The role includes the management of all site works, design coordination, owner tender package management, payment certification and contractual administration.
Responsible for the management and monitoring of the main contractor and direct contracts on site along with management of design and design reviews. Leadership of the owners team on site including construction mangers, supervisors, design reviewers, RE/ RA team, project control/ planning team and surveyors.
Main Responsibilities Include:
Overall Management of all construction supervision and inspection services for the project owner/ developer
Liaison with the owner and external design team/ design management team to ensure fully coordinated works
Advising design teams on how to design to efficiently construct the building
Undertaking buildability studies and advising on best practice for construction and design
Peer review of consultants designs
Managing on site supervising and inspecting engineers

Direct management of main contractor works acting as main point of contact for owner to the contractor
Assisting in valuation of the works progressed and sign off of total value of the work

Employed as project engineer for an Australian design consultant in Jakarta. The position was a temporary position to run the design and site monitoring works for 2 new build schools in Indonesia, for the Australian Independent School, one in Jakarta and one in Bali.
My role was to manage all aspects of the design, coordinate the design team, manage the design issues on site and liaise with the client on all design related items.
I also assisted TTW with new work bids and business development during my time with them.

Employed as Engineering Design Manager for Leighton Contractors Indonesia. My role was to manage the engineering design teams for all sites within Indonesia and run a head office based engineering team to produce engineering design documentation, method statements, risk assessments, logistics plans and project planning/ programming for the projects.
The role also included business development to assist in building the portfolio of contracts within Indonesia, along with production of full bid information with the Leighton Asia central bid hub in Kula Lumpur.

Employed as Engineering Design Manager for Grocon International, my role was to manage an in-house team of design engineers in Dubai and Australia for all site engineering works for international and Australian based projects, including all contractor designed items, temporary works designs and detailed site planning.
The role included advising clients and designers on how to tailor design to build efficiently and undertaking value engineering studies to reduce costs direct for clients.
As well as managing the engineering team I was heavily involved in management of all the international site works undertaken by Grocon outside Australia. This included the construction of structure on tall buildings in India, UAE, Australia and South East Asia.
Main Responsibilities Included:

Responsible for a team of over 60 office and site based design engineers working within the Gulf region on various projects, mainly in Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. COWI Bahrain was the central production hub for design work in the Middle East and all design and site based engineers were led from Bahrain, by myself, for structural engineering works.
As director of structures I managed a large team of design engineers for projects, as well as producing design for concept works and complicated areas of structural design, including peer review of projects.
COWI Gulf also undertook site supervision works and I led these teams, managing resident engineers as well as site supervision staff.

Initially employed by WSP to head up a new office in Sheffield, I was heavily involved in the business development for the office to establish itself in the market. To pay overheads the office also undertook work already secured by other WSP in the UK and overseas, acting as a small outsourcing centre. The office secured works within a few months, however when the global financial crisis hit the UK in 2008, WSP took the decision to downsize and close the office, moving all the works secured to the Leeds office. Following this, I was transferred to Dubai to head up one of the structural teams there.
In Dubai I became involved with high rise design and large scale projects, also acting as design lead for combined services on certain projects. I managed a team of up to 20 engineers and undertook design for projects in various Gulf countries.
I further undertook the setting up of outsourcing of WSP Dubai structural work to the New Dehli office in India. I spent my time between India and Dubai to ensure design requirements for the projects were properly addressed by the New Dehli team.
