• Ensure mobile x-ray request is properly justified, discuss with the referring physician and radiologist where needed.
• Radiation protection for the patient, staff, and public, ALARA principle.
• Delay x-ray exposure until the area is deemed suitable and clear of staff and visitors.
• Check that staff are wearing the correct radiation protection devices. (lead Coats, monitoring badge).
• Radiographer will not proceed with imaging unless all staff are wearing lead protection (Lead Apron, Thyroid Shield).
• Dosimeters should be worn by all staff - under the lead apron.
• Consideration needs to be given to the length of fluoroscopic exposure (ALARA principle), and documented for each patient.
• Use of horizontal beam imaging should be minimised to reduce exposure to direct and scattered radiation.
• Perform x-ray to inpatients and outpatients and using portable machine on the floors and ICU.
• Performed computed Tomographic scan and mammography.
• Assist Radiologist in Ultrasound
• Adapted and learned new protocols quickly while substituting for other radiographer.
Performed different types of x-ray in outpatient department and emergency room
-Observed and familiarized protocols in doing different types of examination in CT-scan as well as inserting of contrast in the patient.
