Duties and Responsibilities
• Check influent box and remove blockage
• Check blower operation
• Check and adjust air pressure for even distribution over aeration tank surface
• Check each sludge return pipe for proper operation and check the water runs clear at
the end of cycle
• Check scum return operates correctly
• Hose or brush down effluent weir
• Check and refill chlorination system
• Hose down all walls, brush if any algae and remove from plant
• Check operation of mechanical scraper if fitted
• Check sand filter pressures and backwash
• Check smell and color of liquid in aeration tank
• Carry out the following test and check against required values
a.color test
b.odor test
c.pH test
d.chlorine test
e.settling test
f.dissolved oxygen test
g.ammonia test
• Record results in Operators daily logsheet
• Check waste consignment notes of any sewage waste brought in for disposal by any
other contractor
• Check and top up oil level in gearbox of blowers
• Clean breather plug points and check seals for oil leaks on blowers
• Remove blower filters.clean and refix
• Check functioning of solenoid valves

• Desludge aeration tanks and spread wet sludge in drying bed
• Change belt of blowers if necessary
Operates 2 kinds of Wastewater Treatment Plant which is Dissolved Air Floatation and
Eloctrolytic Wastewater Treatment Plant
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Check influent box and remove blockage
• Check air blower operation by operating manual blower switches
• Replenish chemicals mixtures to the chemical tanks such as Aluminum Hydroxide for
flocculation.Polymer for coagulant, Caustic Soda and Ferric Chloride for pH
adjustment, Hydroxyl Radical for toxic neutralizer and Sodium Hypochlorite or
Calcium hypochlorite for chlorination
• Influent and effluent reading
• Conduct sampling such as pH, chlorine, temperature, turbidity
• Adjustments of valves from influent and air blower supply
• Check the clearness of effluent for further adjustments
