Volunteer Sales Assistant

I worked mainly on the till and as a Sales Assistant in the shop. This required me to handle the money for the shop and to help customers with their inquiries. Being on the Till gave me responsibilities such as opening the shop in the morning after readying the Till and also closing the shop, collating the money and filling out end of day reports. These tasks are done alongside the manager himself. As mentioned before, working as a Sales Assistant was also one of my responsibilities, being on the shop floor has given me the opportunity to help customers with different queries such as dealing with valuable items or with donations. Because of the tasks I have been taking, I have also on occasion been given the task of supervising the shop whenever the manager was not in the shop. On top of the tasks I do, this also includes making sure volunteers know what is needed to be done such as which items to cull from the shop floor and which items they can replace them with.
During my last year of school we were given a chance to gain work experience, I along with some classmates volunteered to work at a local primary school. We were given task such as cleaning playgrounds and organising classrooms at the end of their school days, in preparation for the next day. I would do this after my school hours before going home.
