I’m presently heading the MEP construction operation services & temporary services departments at El-Seif Engineering. In charge of over 4, 800 MEP direct & indirect employees and around 6, 000 rental MEP manpower & subcontractors. My tasks includes but not limited to management of all MEP running projects from design stage through completion T&C along with estimation of new tendering projects. Overall management and P&L responsibility for the MEP department. Develop the relevant strategies, implementation plans and required partnerships. Develop new business lines within the MEP fields. Oversee the department budgeting process and the development of the strategic yearly plan. Employee increments, company policies & procedures, MEP deliverables, MEP procurement technical & commercial assessments, overseeing fit out/FF&E coordination and integration, MEP value engineering, MEP specifications and design drawings validation, assignment & assessment of MEP resources, MEP risk management, MEP staff/direct recruitment, implementing T&C MEP material and equipment, and coordination with all different ESEC departments such as Civil/architectural, Human resources, legal compliance, Safety & environment, quality, Finance, Commercial, tendering, Communication, and engineering. I was heading the MEP construction services & temporary services departments at Al-Futtaim Carillon. My tasks included but not limited to management of all MEP running projects from design through completion along with estimation of new tendering projects. I oversaw the budgeting, increments, policies, procedures, MEP deliverable, MEP procurement technical assessment, MEP value engineering, MEP specifications and design drawings validation, assignment of resources, recruitment, and coordination with all different AFC departments such as Civil/architectural, HR, HSE, quality, Finance, Commercial, tendering, Communication, and engineering. Project involvement: La Mer Open beach, Emaar Dubai Creek, Expo-2020 Thematic Districts, Avenues City Walk Mall (winner of 2 international best mall awards), and Bee’ha headquarters.
Due to the prestigious and importance of the Dubai EXPO-2020, I was in direct in charge of MEP for the 3 Themed districts: Mobility (44, 626 m²), Sustainability (29, 569m²), Opportunity (44, 117m²) car parks along with 118 Self-Built Pavilions on top of the 3 Thematic Districts (ranging from single floor to 10 stray floors). My task included: design review for all MEP services (specifications and drawings), MEP Value engineering, supervision (EPC) for all MEP services including calculations & design validation, shop drawings, coordination, construction, commissioning for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Fire Fighting, Vertical transportation and ELV systems.

At Kentech, my task included building a regional central MEP technical department in Dubai along with building satellite technical offices for Kentech's branches: Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Kuwait, Mexico, Kazakhstan and Sakhalin. My task in the central technical department was in the preparation of the Kentech technical specifications, Technical Design methodologies, typical detail drawings, project/department planning, department business plans, forecasts, and technical procedures to meet with ISO-9001, MEP staff recruitment including technical competency exams, execution plans, outsourcing engineering contracts when necessary. The recruited MEP Managers performed the technical assessment of the EPC tender, performed technical validation, attended procurement technical meetings, performed Value engineering, and performed design optimization, Management of the pre-construction design stage, to routinely assess and qualify the feasibility of schemes and review the activities of external consultants. Upon project award, the MEP managers moved to overtake the installation of MEP services and equipment (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, piping, Fire Fighting and ELV systems), recruited MEP staff and labors, managed the M&E subcontractors to maximize the potential to safely and commercially deliver a successful project, developed method statements, WIR, shop drawing review, managing the time/cost planning vis a vis the project schedule and budget, O&M manual, commissioning process and project closeouts documentations.

At Kharafi National, I headed the corporate MEP department. My responsibilities included but not limited to overall techno-commercial and execution MEP departments for all UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, and Lebanon. My work involved all MEP departments’ budgets, commercial contracts with specialists, procurement technical evaluation, recruitments, forecast, KPI, and follow - up construction of all EPC and MEP projects for all Kharafi National. My responsibilities included total technical MEP design and execution management for the 9 months record breaking three Nos. GE-9E Power generation plants in Egypt: Al-Shabab (1000MW), Demiata and West Demiata (500MW each). In the Egypt power plant projects, I was in total charge of all MEP technical and site execution teams: 220KV GIS (Siemens and Hyosung), GE turbine power islands, Civil/structural coordination with MEP systems, piling/infra coordination, Building MEP & Infrastructure (M, E&I), PDMS 3D simulations, site coordination, 220KV HV, 11KV MV, 400 LV, DCS, field control instrumentations, all mechanical piping, P&IDs, Fire Fighting, RO plants, …

headed the UAE MEP department at Kharafi National (both Dubai and Abu Dhabi) both construction and site execution. My responsibility included MEP departments’ budgets, recruitment, and commercial contracts with specialists & subcontractors, procurement technical evaluation, forecast, KPI, and follow - up construction execution and installation of all EPC and MEP projects in UAE. I was also in charge of all MEP shop drawing generation, and preparation of the tender documents. Thru MEP managers on sites, I was directing the MEP construction of all EPC/MEP projects for KN at UAE such as three Waste and waste water treatment plants sized at Wathba: 300, 000 m³/day, Saad: 80, 000 m³/day & Saadiyat: 80, 000 m³/day, and two district cooling plants sized for: 30, 000 tons & 60, 000 tons… I was the direct MEP manager in charge of MEP design, procurement, and installation for two AD-UAE temporary labor camps (Habshan-5 12, 000 labors and Wathba, 3000 labors). I was also the MEP manager for the Kharafi National ICAD-III fabrication piping/vessels facility (382, 000m²) with over 20MW of power demand.

My work involved at tender stage MEP design calculations, validation, value engineering, technical bid evaluations, quotations, and techno-commercial bids assessments. After project award, I moved to Kharafi National site to oversee the installation and execution of all MEP equipment as per the design drawings & specifications. My work also included site inspections, method statements, local authorities follow-ups, program weekly follow-up, cost management, Vendor techno-commercial meetings, preparation of shop drawings, and commissioning management along with final client handover

I worked extensively with the NRC regulations and procedures. I was Bechtel’ specialist in the DC systems such as large storage batteries, battery chargers, switchboards and monitoring panels. I performed DC short circuit, DC voltage drop, cable derating, and cable sizing calculations. I was also involved in sizing main AC transformers, switchgears, motor control centers and cable ampacity. I Performed AC short circuit and AC voltage drop analysis. I also performed cable-derating calculations on high, medium, and low voltage system that included ductbank, cable trays, and conduits. Analyzed heat loads calculations for HVAC studies. My experience also involved in writing specifications and evaluating bids for cables, batteries, battery chargers, and DC distribution panels
