Senior Process Engineer in the Aqueduct Project "La Esperanza - RDP".
The project consisted in the design:
- Six (06) centrifugal pumps that operate in parallel arrangement and controlled by variables speed drives.
- New Suction Header (Tie-In Connection).
- 93 Km Pipeline (48").
- Hydraulic Simulations (HYSYS V8.6).
- Air Release Valves, Air/Vacuum Valve and Combination Air Valves.
- Drainage System.
- Location Valves (Check, Gate, Butterfly among others).
- Anti-slam Valves.
- Pig Cleaner System.
- Pressure Relief Valves.
- SCADA & PLC Specification.
Also, Development the followings documents: Hydraulic Calculations, PFD´s, P&ID´s, Sketch, Design Basis, Process Description, Operating and Control Philosophy, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning Manual, Operating Manual, Hazop Study, Vendor & Procurement Support.
"RPLC DEEP CONVERSION PROJECT" - EPC CONTRACT
JOINT VENTURE (CONFEED : JGC CORPORATION - INELECTRA - CHIYODA)
Leader Engineer during FEED & Detailed Engineering Phase at the Puerto La Cruz Refinery Expansion Project, which consisted in the interconnection between existing plants as: DA-1/2 (Atmospheric Distillation Units), Naphtha Splitter Unit (U-51/52), NHT (Hydrotreating Unit), FCC Unit (Catalytic Cracking Unit) and Alkylation Unit with the New Process Units: VDU-1/2 (Vacuum Distillation Units), HDH PLUS-1/2 (Hydroconversion Unit), SHP-1/2 (Sequential Hydroprocessing Unit), GRU (Gas Recovery Unit), SRU (Sulfur Recovery Unit) among others. In addition, the increase in storage capacity and dispatch/reception on jetties.
Design for handle the following products:
- Light Naphtha, Heavy Naphtha, JET-A1, SR Diesel, AGO and Long Residue.
- LVGO, HVGO, Vacuum Residue, Asphalt, Crude Oil.
- ML Diesel, Diesel Blends, Fuel Oil Blends, Gasoline Blending, FCC Slurry.
- Sulfur System.
Site survey of existing piping network and equipment at Chaure, Guaraguao and RPLC areas. Development of Hydraulics Calculation, Design of Control Valves, Pumping System and Storage Tanks using INPLANT 4.0 and PIPEPHASE 8.1 software’s, Heat Exchanger Design with HTRI 5.0 (Fuel Oil), Drainage System, Design of Thermal Relief and Pressure Relief System. As well as the elaboration of intelligent P&ID´s using Smart Plant P&ID.
Also, develop the following documents: PFD´s, P&ID´s, Equipment and Instrument Data Sheet, Design Basis, Process Description, Operating and Control Philosophy, Cause & Effect Diagrams for offsite, tanks farm and jetties area.
"CRP MIDDLE AND DEEP CONVERSION ADEQUATION PROJECT" (PACMYP PROJECT).
Leader Engineer in the Conceptual Engineering Stage (PRE-FEED) at Amuay/Cardon Refinery Expansion Project (PACMYP), which consisted in the interconnection system between existing units: PSAY-1/2/3/4/5 (Atmospheric Distillation Units), PVAY-1/2/3/4/5 (Vacuum Distillation Units), HDAY-3/4 (Hydro-processing Unit), CRAY (Delayed Coking Unit) and FKAY (Flexicoking Unit) with the New Process Plants: HCAY (Hydrocraking Unit), HDAY-5 (Hydroprocessing Unit), CRAY-2 (Delayed Coking Unit), SUAY-4/5 (Sulfur Recovery Units), SWAY-5/6 (Sour Water Units), FMAY-4/5/6 (MEA Regeneration), HDN (Hydrotreating Naphtha) and HMU-2 (Hydrogen Unit). As well as increase the storage capacity and jetties.
Site Survey and Hydraulics evaluations (Piping Sizing) to specify the Battery Limits Conditions (New Plants and Offsite Area) using INPLANT 4.0 and PIPEPHASE 8.1 software’s.
Design for handle the following products:
- Light Naphtha, Heavy Naphtha, JET-A1, Diesel, AGO and Long Residue.
- LVGO, HVGO, Short Residue, Asphalt, Lubricants, Crude Oil and Fuel Oil Blends.
- DVGO, HCGO, LCGO, ICCO, LCCO, FCC Slurry and Slop System.
- LPG (n-propane, n-butane, Iso-butane and Olefins).
- Acid Gas, Sour Gas and Sulfur System.
Also, the location study of the following tanks: TK-166 (LCGO), TK-170 (Short Residue), TK-171/172 (Slop) and evaluation of relief system for the new flare SFAY-7.

General Revamp of Boilers N°12 and N°13 belonging to the Industrial Services Area (Block 29). \n \nThe work consisted in the evaluation of the physical conditions in the working area to guarantee safety of the workers in the development of their works.
Evaluation of Gasoline Blending System in Cardon Refinery. \n \nThe project consisted in the development of isometric drawing of existing piping network. The work included the elaboration of four sketch for the preparation of 91 and 95 octanes gasoline, as well as the tank recirculation. Estimation of physical properties of the components using PRO II program. Hydraulic evaluation for the sizing of piping using INPLANT 4.0 and Pipephase 8.1 software, design of centrifugal pumps using API and PDVSA standars criteria.
HDAY-2 Unit Operating Condition Digitalization. \n \nUse of Bentley Autoplant Software for the P&ID´s digitalization. The scope of work include piping and equipment operating and design conditions (Heat exchanger, Drums, Fractionating towers, Reactors and MEA Absorption Tower).
Updating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams of HDAY-2 Unit. \n \nHDAY Unit Update consisted in: Site Survey and elaboration of isometric of the existing pipelines and Checking of existing equipment. The work consisted in the simulation of the process unit considering the scenario for maximum load condition (PRO II 8.0), using PDVSA standars for the verification of piping design working conditions.
